We a family of 3 adults and 2 kids were planning to visit Pondicherry the mid-week of January. As I find SUVs far more comfortable and easy for longer drives, wanted to rent one for the journey as usual. Any other day, I would tap the Zoomcar App as have been their customer from day one.
However I have pretty much driven all the vehicles they have and was tempted to try a Hyundai Creta or Terrano from Myles. I read the online reviews here and the obvious choice was not to rent from Myles.
But the thought of driving an Automatic Creta was luring me to try. What’s the worst thing that can happen? I would drive my Getz the 900 kms that I was planning to cover and the best? A nice Creta to live in for hours!
I booked online and spoke to a representative(Unfortunately I missed noting down his name) who was pleasant. Before I concluded, he gave me a tip “Sir, book it for the maximum number of hours. We don’t charge you per km so it will save you money. Avoid turning late and paying extra” . I thought that was going beyond the call of duty. Good so far!
The day before I was to travel, I received a sms that Mr. Rafid was assigned to hand over the car for me. I called him and was told the car would be ready at the stipulated time and in fact I could pick it up half an hour early in case I had to start the journey on time(I was to pick the car at 5am in the morning and the only worry was I had to pick the car from Airport which was 42 kms away)
I landed to the location early on Friday and the Silver Creta was clean, neat and ready.I found Mr. Rafid quite professional. He explained everything in detail including the spare tyre and tools. The journey to and From Pondicherry was a breeze and we were blown away by the car(the ride quality of Duster is still my favorite, but the creature comforts in an Automatic Creta impresses you). We covered 900 kms and enjoyed every bit of it.
Back from Pondicherry, I returned the car and it took just a few minutes of formality.
I forgot to fill fuel at Pondicherry(which was stupid as Diesel is way cheaper there) so I was charged for a tankful of fuel ? . Rafid had told me this, so not their fault.
Settlement was done in a couple of days and I was pretty happy with the service and turnaround time.
Now for feedback:
Your speed limit is 100Kmph! were you kidding when you made that T&C? For a Hyundai Creta Automatic on a national highway? The first time an old Ambassador overtook me I was annoyed. But when a Maruti 800 overtook me and disappeared into the horizon ahead, it was embarrassing. You guys must set a limit of at least 125-130 for high end vehicles.
Creta AT was available only at Airport which was 42kms from Indiranagar. Make it available or charge us a bit extra for door deliveries. Would be really good.
Make it simpler like your competitors. The world is moving towards app based solutions.
I would definitely come back to you. Hopefully you have sorted out the issues our other friends are talking about in this page.
