Psst - This section will contain some inside trivia about the film.

Quotes - Good one liners from the movie.

Oops - Goofs From the movie.

Director – Jijy Philip

Screenplay – Atul Sabhrawal

Debutant Director Jiju Philips comes up with a good and different film. Ravi (Anil Kapoor) is an over worked editor who has to come home to his nagging wife, Sheela(Suchitra Krishnamoorti) every night. Sheela suspects that Ravi is having an affair with his assistant Reena(A very cute Nandana Sen). In a fit of anger Ravi slaps Sheela who slips, falls to the ground and hits the bed and dies instantly. Ravi is in a fix as he didn’t want to kill her. To save himself from the police and for sake of his children he disposes the body. Things take a U turn when Reena’s father worries about the disappearance of his daughter and a police complaint is launch and Sheela’s body is found. Investigating Officer Tejpal Randhwa(Boman Irani) suspects Ravi and tries to find all clues which would lead to arrest him. Then begins a constant cat and mouse game between the two. In all this the only person who supports Ravi is Reena. A perfect example of how a simple story line can be made so interesting and gripping. Fabulous performances by 2 of India’s most under rated actors, Anil Kapoor and Boman Irani, Nandana Sen performs well. The climax scene is very well acted. Another feather in Anil Kapoor’s cap and proves why he is one of the very few actors in Indian Cinema who has never given a bad performance. As Ramgopal Varma is one of the producers we are thankfully spared of songs and dance sequences. Reminds one of Gulzar’s classic Vinod Khanna Starrer Achanak.

Psst –

1) Orginally there were going to be 2 movies made. One was tittled – Galti Se and one was tittled – Jaan Bujh Ke. Both films had the same story line with the same cast and crew but with different endings. Both were to be filmed simultaneously and released simultaneously as well. As the original Kannanda Version had come under lot of criticism from Major Women’s lib lobby the producers decided to shelve the 2 versions and come up with just 1 film.

2) This is Suchitra Krishnamoorti’s first film in 11 years.

Quotes -

1) “You are a liar.”

2) “Achcha Kaam hai aapka. Jo cheez nahi chahiye who nahi dikhate.”

Oops –

1) When Ravi is wiping the blood in one scene there is a good amount of blood still left after wiping but the next scene has most of the stains gone instantaneously.

2) It is quite unlikely that someone’s car will not get checked during police patrolling, especially when such a large box is visible.

3) In the final scene when Ravi’s son falls down and gets badly hurt on the lips, it is shown as bleeding and in the very next scene it is shown as clotted.

4) Writer Trade Marrk - Lead Protoganist in a crisis. Producer Ramgopal Varma's trademark - Superb Long Steadycam sequences.
