So what happens when a man does not know what to do after fate takes over his life? "My Wife's Murder" is a film in which the main character faces his fate and reality with fear.

Why Did you Watch this Movie?

I watched this movie because after it came out I heard good things. I had heard that it is not the typical Bollywood film and that it is a film worth watching for Anil Kapoor's acting. I am a fan of Anil Kapoor's work and I was excited to watch him in a different kind of film.

PLOT

Ravi(Anil Kapoor) is a hardworker who stays up late at his office editing tapes. He comes home to a wife who only has time to suspect him of having an affair with his young assitant, Reena(Nandana Sen). Ravi trys to ignore her comments and gets fed up with her nonsense. One afternoon he comes home early due to techinical difficulties at the office. He ends up having an argument with his wife. And at that moment, he faces fate. Accidently, he murders his wife. As time goes by, he convinces everyone that she left to her parents' house. However, word is out that she has not reached her "destination". Ravi hides the truth and is on the run from himself. Reena trys to help him even knowing she is risking her life.

CAST

Anil Kapoor as Ravi- After watching this film, I agree with critics who have said his performance was brilliant. It takes a very artistic actor to do more than the typical bollywood comedies and romance. In my opinion, I don't think he has to prove himself as a good actor. With this film, he has only strengthened that label. He plays a stressed out character. He plays a character who knows what should have been done but just like any man who panics in a situation like this, he let his emotions take over his actions.

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi as Sheela- Suchitra plays the wife in the film. Her role is very small so it is not enough to comment on her acting. However, her role was one of a very suspicious wife.

Nandana Sen as Reena- Nandana is the girl who made her debut in "Black". In this film, I thought her acting was average. There was nothing special about her acting. I felt that she just had to fill in the position of the character. Her character is one who tries to help her boss by putting her life also in danger.

Boman Irani as Inspector Tejpal- Boman Irani is an actor who is versatile in his roles. His acting in this film was well done. He played an ordinary police officer on the lookout for the criminal. I like him for doing different roles. The other role that sticks out for me is the professor in "Main Hoon Na".

Was the Movie able to keep you Glued to the Screen?

Yes. The film had many thrilling parts. Those parts kept me wanting to know what is going to happen and made me feel a little scared. However, it was not a horror movie. It was just a film that made me think that it could be real but if it is then it is also scary. Anil Kapoor's performance and character made me feel bad for him. I just wanted to know what would happen to him and what he would do.

Overall, I recommend this film to those who watch Bollywood films for more than just entertainment. If you like watching films for performances and new ideas in Bollywood films, I think this film will be for you. If you are an Anil Kapoor fan, it is a film for you. If you are tired of music and dancing in hindi movies, then don't worry-there were none! Even if you do not want to watch it, you should watch it to see what the industry is coming to(well, if you are interested at least). "My Wife's Murder" is an excellent example of the fresh Bollywood style.
