Five Detestable Foods!!

I will first admit that I have never been a picky eater. In fact, since I was a very young inquisitive little girl, I have been able to make my way around the kitchen. My father was an army chef, and taught me his skillz and secrets to seasoning to taste. Yet, as an adult, my willingness to try new and different foods has landed my inquisitive arse in some nauseating situations!

Without further ado, my first Five detestable foods:

Caviar

I recall attending a political fund raiser many years ago. As a high school student, my interest in politics was great. I excitedly entered the dining hall and with wide eyed wonder, shook hands with prominent politicians. I was tempted by the vast array of delicious smelling morsels on the smorgasborg table.

That's when I saw it. The dish that so many were surrounding. I had to try it. Putting a bit of the black goo on a small cracker, I sniffed, then tasted and nearly fell to the floor. My face contorted into a grotesque mask of detestation! My tastebuds would never forgive me, for I had just sampled CAVIAR...which translated to fish eggs!!! I have never had that in my mouth again and my taste buds have finally forgiven me some 30 years later!

SHRIMP IN LOBSTER SAUCE

I absolutely love the heavenly smell and taste of Chinese food! Is it the sesame oil, or the crunchy broccoli stir fried in soy sauce? Maybe it's the healthy steamed fresh vegetables or the soft delicious tofu. If these words are whetting your appetite, GOOD!! That was my intention.

One day I decided to try something a bit different from my favorite items I would always order from the pretty menu. I decided on Shrimp in lobster sauce because everyone said that I would love it. NOT!!!!! When the dish arrived I nearly gagged. My face turned blue and the bile rose up into my throat! I found the food less than appetizing. It looked like the puke that threatened to pour forth from my mouth!! Never, ever again have I ordered anything as slimy and horrible looking...BTW...I would never recommended this dish to my dog or his friends!

BLUE FISH

As I begin to describe the experience I had with Blue Fish, a terrible memory is forming. In fact, it is nightmarish, horrific and frightening to think that I actually paid $25 for the fish dinner from Hell. Blue fish, as it turned out, is one of the fishiest fish to come from the ocean. These little salty fishies proclaim to the eater ''Don't eat me if you don't have the stomach for strong, stinky fishy fish!! I will make you vomit!''

Enough said!!

OYSTERS

If you must know, I don't appear to like many foods that come from the bottom of the ocean. Well, here is yet another....I never really ate shell fish until I became an adult who could make my own choices in dining fare.

While vacationing on the New Jersey shore with friends, their idea of a grand time was ordering in a bushel of OYSTERS and clams. I told them that I had never eaten any such things. They are grinned and assured me that I would simply love them and that I would find OYSTERS to be an unforgettable dining experience.

I have three words for these slimy despicable little creatures in a shell: eeeeoooowwww!!....GROSS!!....Urghhhh!!!!

CLAMS

See above! That's it...I will share the next five in an upcoming review.
