Love conquers all. Review on My Name is Khan

Karan Johar, the ace melodrama film maker of movies such as 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' and 'K3G' to name a few is back with a bang and this time on a more serious and mature topic. He is ably supported by the golden couple Shahrukh-Kajol. The story of the Asperger Syndrome affected yet talented Rizwan Khan aka the main protagonist of the movie MNIK, Shahrukh 'King' Khan  is well knitted by the director. The plot has a new offering.Though the movie has the shadow of 'Rainman' it has its own place of liking in the theatre goer's psyche. The plot of the movie is good. The music by Shankar-Eshan-Loy is humming and melodious. Some songs like 'Sajda' and 'Mere Naina' are really foottapping. The cinematography by Ravi A Chandran is awesome.Actingwise SRK shows once again why he is called the King Khan of Bollywood. Kajol too gives a stupendous performance. The supporting cast like Jimmy Shergil is also good.

The story of the movie goes like this, an Indian Muslim family has two sons, one of whom suffers from Asperger's Syndrome . There exists a bit of sibling rivalry as the normal boy often complains of his mother's overprotectiveness towards his brother. There are glimps of directorial brilliances by Karan Johar like the scenes where young SRK's mother teaches him the difference between good and bad people.  The other son does well in life and settles in USA. He sponsores his brother to USA where for the first time his disease is detected by his sister-in-law. In this story of personal battle of an unfortunate child with the help of his family members esp. mother written  by Shibani Bhatija the main protagonist for the first time discovers love in the form of a mother of one child Hindu Kajal and finally, despite the religious differences marries her. However, meanwhile the unfortunate and horrondous 9/11 occures making the general Americans comprehensive of the Muslims. Oneday the Kajal's son is murdered in the school . She thinks that perhaps her son would have been alive had he not been identified as a Muslim. In anger she tells her husband SRK to go the USA President and say that inspite of being a Muslim he is not a terrorist. Will Rizwan be able to do that? Will Kajol's son's murderers be convicted ?

One has to watch the movie to find  these answers. However one thing that annoys the audience is the fake Barrak Obama who looks a bit akward. Otherwise MNIK is a smart take on how love conquers terrorism .
