I had huge expectations from this movie being a loyal fam of bollywood, but after VEER its another movie of 2010 that disappoints me (thouh not as much as veer but still it was a disappointment).

The hype created around the film was not at all justified when you watch this film. It looks like an average budgeted film and some sequences were tackily shooted. The only trump card was the jodi of srk and kajol but only these two cannot make a faulty movie a good one.

Karan Johar should seriously stop making movies on serious and sensitive subjects. Firstly he ruined a sensitive subject in Kabhi alvida na kehna by making a mish mash ruined commercial annoying khichdi, then he made a disaster on terroris in form of Kurbaan by producing it and then another film on terrorism badly directed by him as My name is khan. Karan is master in candy-flosses and he should restrict himself towards the escapist cinema only. The serious cinema is not his forte and if srk and kajol were not there, I bet that MNIK would be as big a flop as Kurbaan was, but every time srk saves him. But still he cannot make a bad film good, he can only bring back money and business at box office for Karan Johar.

The story is interesting but its portrayal, presentation and treatment is strictly average to horrible at some places. The music is also very week and all numbers are sufi numbers and qawwalies sung by all Pakistani singers. Srk acted good though his special child act seems forced and faulty at times. Kajol was really good n her strong and mature character but how one wishes to see her real talent out of srk and karan movies.

The basic problem of this film lies in its poor screenplay with no crisp treatment, lousy presentation and no entertainment value, its really difficult and tough to sit through the whole movie especially in the second hour (forget about the repeat value).

My verdict: Wait until the official dvd release within a month or two. just forget to watch this film in cinemas, it will only be a waste of money and time with high ticket rates.
