Worst Authorized Service Center - Screwed my Ritz

This happens to be my second review on MS and honestly I did not expect to provide any bad comments about something.


Well, I thought I should pen down my experience with "My Car" - Maruti Authorized Service Center Pune so that innocent people like you don’t go through the hardships that I went through.


This all started as I have shifted from Thane to Pune and needed to get my Ritz serviced for the 4th service (paid).


Since "My Car" happens to be nearer to me, I blindly took my car to them on 1st July 2010. Their service adviser Sachin attended to my car. I told him about following issues in addition to mandatory 4th service schedule jobs...


a) Problem noticed in pickup


b) Strange sound when breaking at speeds of 80-90


c) General interior cleaning


He asked me to collect the car next day so that they can complete the work properly. I agreed to the same.


Next day I visited the service center to collect my car by around 5 pm. I was told that the car was ready for the delivery and I paid the bill of around Rs.7500/- (This was towards Engine Oil Change, filter change and few other changes + labor.)


They also told me that the break noise is common during the rains. (I still doubt this). However the noise had gone away when I checked.


I took the delivery of the car and started driving towards my home and after about a kilometer I realized that I was getting honked at every turn as my side light indicators had stopped functioning.


I immediately called Mr. Sachin and told him about this problem, but he insisted that it was too late and that I should get the car back to the service center next day (3nd July). So that they can fully check the issues.


So I agreed and went home. After I switched off the car and removed the car keys I realized that my AC Blower was still working (just the fans). This was really shocking and further I found that the Power Windows switches are also functional even after removing the keys.


I was really worried as I my prior experiences with Navneet Motors Thane were really fantastic and such issues never happened.


Next day I took the car to service center at 9:30 am and they told me at 11:00 am that I should leave the car at the center as they cannot understand the problem. Worst part was, their Service Manager Mr. Nagar said that the Rat has cut my car wiring and so the electrical system had failed.


To this I got really agitated and asked him if the Rat went inside the car during the drive between your service center and my home (as I called his advisor Sachin while still on the way home).


This service center does not have qualified mechanics; they dismantled the entire electrical system of my car and removed all the wires, cut them and taped them.


Since I saw the wires being taped, I questioned them that Maruti itself prohibits the cutting of wires and the void the warranty if the wiring is tampered with. They did not give me any undertaking to this affect. Mr. Nagral still insisted that the warranty will not be voided.


Mr. Nagral also refused to give me a service feedback form saying that these were out of stock.


I was totally mad at these people and took the car delivery and went home. After reaching home I realized that I cannot lock/unlock my car using my car keys. I could only use the car remote (central locking system). Even while I used the remote, the lights which used to blink on lock/unlock stopped blinking. Also the security siren had stopped working.


I called Maruti Help line and lodged a complaint against the service center and narrated the entire incident and also the problems I faced. To my amazement I got a call from Maruti’s Pune Office and one gentleman Mr. Anil Anaware spoke to me. He apologized for the fiasco and assured me that the car will be attended. He asked me to revisit “My Car” to get the car re-fixed. I strongly objected to this and asked him to refer another service center. To which he agreed and made a contact with “Wonder Car’s. (Manager Mr. Mangesh Kulkarni).


I took the car to Wonder Cars and they found that the wiring of my car was incorrect and the door lock was broken (this was probably broken when mechanics at “My Car” center had opened the door panels to fix power windows).


The technicians at Wonder Car fixed the wiring and informed that the door latch needs to be ordered as it was not in stock. Subsequently, I got the door lock fixed last Sunday.


As of now I have my car in working condition but I am still wondering how Maruti will act on my electrical problems in future as the wiring is cut by the stupid people at My Car.


I am so furious while writing this review that I wanted to write all swearing and use all sorts of foul language that I know. But can’t do that as I need to maintain the decorum of this forum.


Finally I only urge you to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Stay AWAY from My Car Pune. And the guys at Wonder Car are really good. Their overall customer service is also good.


I really hope that someone from My Car or Maruti reads this review.
