I have worked for Muthoot Fincorp Ltd from Sept 2007 to June 2009 as territory manager. My experience of working with the company was far from satisfactory.
In terms of timing, the company had good systems in place at regional offices and the branches reporting to that. The head office timings were quiet haphazard. The IT and Operations departments were very efficient, monitored by HO. As the head office was bossy, the IT department too behaved in similar manner. As there are some nice people everywhere, Muthoot Fincorp Ltd too had some nice people both at HO and regional office.
The company hardly practiced any good HR policy. It is no respecter of humans.The perceived opinion of the top management(above CEO) was final and it was obvious that the yearly appraisals were predetermined. The top management of the company believed in cutting cost even at the cost of HR policies. A decent colleague of mine was fired because he was asking for salary parity with me. Earlier he had taken up the job purely on poor bargaining power and the perception was that he was not up to the mark because of poor salary.
The top management(above CEO) was arrogant too as it fired me for taking marriage leave for about 15 days for self. It was mired with heavy politics with the blessings of the senior most management( above CEO). The company took away my incentive cheque, that was more than a month’s salary under the pretext of change in the amount. It never returned the cheque to me(as I was fired)! The top management did not respond to my legal notice as the company did not pay me notice pay, incentives for the insurance premium paid and collected by me and so on. Essentially the company top management is crook. What do you expect in a lawless nation where everything is possible with the connection of politicians?
I would not recommend this company to anyone unless there is an urgent sense or dire need to take up a job.
