I had a very horrible experience recently at the Muthoot finance, Pedawaltair branch. I went to pay my monthly interest at the branch when this incident occurred. The staff were taking too much time to give me service. In this regard, I asked the branch manager why so much delay in transaction. To this, he replied very rudely that he already told me to wait for five minutes whereas I waited for 30 minutes before asking him anything. The other customers were also restless. I said do something to the manager. The manager replied I cannot do anything. I am not responsible for this. You have to wait till they give you service. He started shouting at me and also told that he will call the police regarding this incident. He also advised his staff not to give service people like me, who are "trouble makers".


Note here, asking for service in a private company is trouble making for the branch manager and he says he is not responsible for the delay. In this regard, I raised the issue to Regional manager. The RM sympathized with me and said he will talk to BM regards this. I called the RM the next morning and asked him what he did regarding this. He replied very foolishly that he talked to the BM and the BM said that no such incident happened at the branch, to which RM agreed and told me the same and said that he cannot take any action. Will the BM agree that incident occurred when he is involved in the incident. Is is right for the RM to ask the BM directly regarding this. Does he not have asked other staff members personally??


Companies claim that they are in business for the last 100 years or so and they do not give proper service to customers. They claim customers as God. The put banners stating these but in reality it does not happen in some branches. I hope things will change and some grievance redress system comes in India to the relief of consumers.
