I have been to Mussoorie A number of times. Usually I visit here with my friends circle as the journey is safe and the expenditure is also affordable if you spend carefully. I will describe my latest trip. I went Mussoorie a month ago. We started our journey from Delhi in early morning and reaches our destination till evening. There we took accommodation and the first place we visited was Maal road. It is a long road having brands stores eating points, small museums etc. it is usually closed till 10 pm so visit maal road early. Its better to go to this place nearly about 7 pm when it is dark.
Then we visited other destination like Campty fall and lal tibba. Here is a general advice for going to campty fall. there are two spots for having fun, taking bath in waterfall here. one is going down following where most of the people goes, and the other is going upwards till the stairs ended. I recommend to go upwards as no one goes there and the rush and noise is less there, even the nature scenes and nature sound is quiet soothing there.
Then we went to lal Tibba, it is the highest destination situated in mussoorie. The view from the lal tibba is just awesome.
You can travel at any time of year as I visited almost in every month. If you wanna have fun in waterfall then please go in summer.
What I dislike about Mussoorie is rush, a number of hotels and pollution.
