Hi
it is nice to know that u r planning a trip to Muscat, Sultanate of Oman..
What is written here is not any advice, but just a few points for you to ponder ...
For people of united arab emirates, muscat is a little different place, as its topography is generally different from dubai or abu dhabi or sharjah...etc as these three places are on planes...where as muscat is part of a mountain and its valley...so it looks different and sure u will enjoy ...
the city is now as good as any in the middle east and you get almost any thing that u want though u may have less of choice comparing dubai.
the people are good, laguage is arabic and hindi/urdu and most of the indian languages,u almost get all the tv channels that u have in india...in a way it is almost like india away from india...with out the pollution, politics that is in india and many such negatives that is making india what it is today...
However, when u say u r planning to go in summer, I wonder which period of the year u r planning...if u r travelling during the july / october period, then it cld be a wrong time for a holiday at it will be very high dry temperature for u to experience...if it is march april period, then it is o.k. as this is the change over time...
and since u r in muscat dont miss the opportunity to visit salallah which will remind u of kerala or goa in india..
all the best
