I had just been to Murud Janjira with family and friends where we stayed at Sandpipers resort. I would like share my experience with people and would like to bring to everyones notice that I had a not so pleasant experience at the resort.
I would recommend people choosing Goldenswan resort over any other resort. However, Murud is a very beautiful place, not at all crowded and peaceful. Murud is between 150-200 kms away from Mumbai. Living in a fast paced city like Mumbai with a stressful life, we all thought of having a nice weekend getaway. All was well until we reached Sandpiper resort at Murud.
My brother who had also planned his holiday there, recommended Sandpiper resort. He had come with his 15 friends there the same day i.e. 11th of August. If people are coming in a group, it is a matter of common sense to allot rooms to the group in the same building or close by.
We were allotted two rooms together and the third one was a AC cottage room I believe and not an AC Dlx room that we booked and away from the other two rooms. It was not at all comfortable as it was a shared room in a cottage with just a door in between two rooms.
My room was not even close to the other rooms allotted to us with regards to the facilities inside the room and most importantly the view outside. I am sure the cunning manager there (pretending to be smart though he was not) exchanged our one of the rooms with the one that he gave me. He coolly said allotment of rooms is done in their Mumbai office and not by him.
He also said other people would happily accept the room that he gave me as it is at a peaceful location. I wanted to ask him if he can go and ask all other guests if they can exchange their room with ours telling them that it is at a peaceful location. I am sure there would not have been a single person agreeing with him. The manager is no one to decide people's choice and their mood.
Even the food was also not good and expensive. We paid Rs 250/- for what you get for Rs 30-40. In addition, the rooms in the resort are not even close to the pictures of the rooms given on their web site.
