Just back after a short trip to Kollur and then to Murudeswar from there. Thought of writing here, as I was eagerly looking for a review before planning this trip. What I'd say is, It is a must visit place if you have not been before.
The place is not that clean or attractive, but I am sure it will not disappoint you.A good place to relax with family. The more the members the better it would be. We were about 8+ and kids.
Travel from Kollur to Murudeswar is 65kms. It is a good drive. Make sure you book a resort before you reach there. We stayed at Naveen Beach resort (1800+tax for a double room a/c). It is a good place to stay with a reasonable rate. I suggest to book a resort than a normal lodging. you can have a good view of the sea and good outdoor dinner at this here.
We reached by about 1pm. Had our lunch from a hotel outside(Kamat Hotel) (there is lunch at the resort, but we preferred to walk out). Back to the resort and took rest. At about 3.30 went to the temple. Its just outside the resort. The temple has a huge tall gopuram, which though was not so attractive but okay. The temple inside was bit crowdy hence we didn't enter inside. Then walked towards the huge statue of Lord Shiva which was amazing. And some photos etc there and tea from a nearby hotel which is built upon the seashore. Back to the room changed the clothes and headed to the beach which is just infront of the resort. A good time there. The beach is very shallow and one can fearlessly walk into it for a distance. Back to room when the night fell, freshened up and dinner from the resort only which they arraned in the lawn. An ealry morning walk along the beach the next day and a quick breakfast from Kamat and checked out by 10am.
