First of all apologies for being away from MS for like a little time. And I know you guys missed me. Alright you did not? But anyways I am back for good (or worse) with another sinful review. So, here we go ...

I have witnessed a lot of movies in January. The I watched absolutely nothing in February and March and that means absolutely nothing in Cinema - ungrezi or Hindi. But one film whose promos caught the eye were Murder. It was that sinful combo of music and visuals which last was seen in Paap. Murder also had the oomph factor from Mallika and ofcourse had a largely impressive in first film, Emran Hashmi. Ashmit Patel, well you cold tolerate him I guess and the director, Anurag something did a good job in Saaya. So well, expectations galore. Does the movie prove worthy? Did I enjoy it? Yes, it was but if you have seen Unfaithful, you are unlikely to find anything in first half amusing.

So, the movie is like this ... busy husband, lonely wife, old flame, new encounter, suspicious husband, ek maha gadbad, easy solution. I mean eeryone and their aunty and uncle knew the story alright, so it was always going to eb the treatment that would be doing the trick and here it does to the trick. Despite the predictable turn of events, the movie has one thing going for it. A good screenplay and easy smooth narrative unlike Paap, which was slow and fast at will.

The presence of Hashmi and Mallika and director's deftness in exploiting their obvious assets (lol) is also commendable. The songs lend an excellent touch to the movie and the cinematographer has done a dream job. Anurag Basu has a thing for rains it seems. Saaya was a pretty wet film and so is this. And the rains play massive havoc this time around also.

So that done, is there something one should analyse in the film. Well alright, lets do a quick recap ....

  1. Editor - ok job, needed something extra first half, a bit slow

  2. Photography - Brilliant

  3. Dialogues - Well, lets not be nasty ...

  4. Story - Thankyou Unfaithful story writer ji

  5. Scrrenplay - cut copy pate alter

  6. Lyrics - Work major time

  7. Music - Rocks major time raised to power infinity and Mallika rocks too vaise

  8. Aur kya hota hai picture mein? Well bas theek thaak hai baaki sab kuch vi. Na zyada acchha na zyada bura.

Performances now ... Mallika is hot and she acts for something like 5 minutes too. Her dialogue delivery though is like Reliance Phone Machine Voice. She does what is expected of her rather well. And with practise she may be called an actress too esp if her voice gets a bit of training. Ashmit Patel gets a role which suits him to T. Play something like a stiff upper lip with zero emotions and he excels. Bravo! Kashmira Shah rocks in her item song and Raj Zutshi is as usual irritating. But it is Emran Hashmi is the one who ups the tempo and momentum a bit. He is one dude along with John Abraham to watch out for. Director sir ji has done a good job second time around as well. Another talent to watch out for.

That apart there is another thing I would like to touch in the review and that is how everyone thinks Mallika is a bitch and easy to lay just because she is open about her sexual needs. Well I think that is just poor mentality. I mean just because a girl wears a mini skirt does not mean she is asking you to rape her. So just because she says she is single or finds someone attractive, does not mean you can go about bitching her. And Ashmit Patel and his clan who go about proclaiming how classy their family is, need a lesson or two since his actions just tell you his class or the lack of it.

Now a disclaimer: I usually like Bhatt clan films, since they are well made, have good music, are short in narrative, have lots of oomph and dont meander on and on. I liked Raaz, I loved Jism and I also thought good enough of Saaya and Paap. So, make you own judgements now. But I seriously feel, Murder is better than Paap and Saaya. Its entertaining for one and is short for another. A delightful combo and also has a topping of Mallika on it. Go for it now.
