Mallika?s Undressing Required a Dash of Extra Raunchiness

So there you have it, the best and the shortest review you will ever get to read about this flick. Yeah..I am serious about it; I am done with this review. Oh..Ok c?mon now, don?t give me that curled lip, oh enough already stop crying. All right since I am so generous and jobless all at the same time, I shall strain myself to educate you just a little about what you can expect from this movie.

The Story

If you were one of those, who were taken aback by what the promos showed and totally forgot about the title of the movie, then you need to stop staring at T&A and focus a little more on the name of the movie. Yes it?s Murder and someone gets killed. Or do they? Lets take it from the top. Simran (Mallika Sherawat) is a lonely housewife in far away Bangkok and is married to Sudheer (Ashmit Patel) who mostly neglects her and their 4 year old son and is always obsessed with work. One fine day Simran is shopping on the streets of Bangkok and gets stuck in the rain. Just as luck would have it, she runs into Sunny (Eemran Hashmi) an old flame/lover back from her college days. He is mighty concerned that she may catch a cold in the rain. He also tells her the rain here is unlike the Bombay rain coz once it starts it never stops. Wow so we are getting Geography lessons, where we expected Biological ones.

Anyway Sunny calls her to his pad, which is conveniently located within a stones throw from where they met. Simran refuses to come and Sunny walks off. Simran calls for a cab and is about to get in, but she has one look at Sunny?s rain drenched a** and she decides to go in. Ok maybe she really needed to dry off, but that?s the logical explanation that I could come up with.

So as the story unveils we find out that Simran is not too cozy with Sudheer and married him in the first place because he was the husband of her elder sis, who died while boarding a flight that Simran was supposed to be on. Sounds complicated?? Don?t worry coz from here on it?s just simple sex. Oh but before we get to that, one little fact about Sunny. He apparently spent close to two years in jail before coming to Bangkok, because he bashed up a guy who had merely touched his beloved girlfriend Simran. Anyway old feelings are re-ignited and before you realize what?s happening, they are meeting everyday and also for the lack of a better word, (No I actually want to use this word) are now doing IT. So we have some kissing, some undressing and some rolling around. Everything is going on just fine until that mentally retarded 4-year-old son catches a cold and cant go to school.

Ok he is not mentally retarded but just acts like one. So someone?s gotta stay home and take care of the little punk. Naturally it has to be Simran and now she cant meet Sunny for he make out sessions. Sunny is naturally the obsessive kind and he starts giving poor Simran a hard time. What happens next is anybody?s guess, the reality dawns upon Simran and she realizes that her son and husband are far more important to her than kinky sex. She now wants to dump Sunny boy, but he is having none of it. In the meantime Sudheer has found out all about where Simran has been spending her afternoons and isn?t very thrilled.

One fine day, Sunny gets killed and before you know it the cops are interrogating Simran and Sudheer in their station. Interestingly both of them claim that they are the ones who committed the murder and the other is innocent. So what is actually happening? Why is Sudheer trying to protect his wife when he should be really annoyed as hell with her? What are Simran?s intentions? Just how did Sunny get killed? And what happens to that freakin mentally retarded kid. For all that you have gotta spend some ka-ching and watch the movie. Or read about it in some other jerk?s review who has spoiled all your suspense.

The Performances and Music

Gotta say Eemraan Hashmi is the star of the film. This bloke can act and he proves that in his first movie itself. Ashmit Patel is passable and maybe will improve with every film. Finally it?s Mallika Sherawat who is a kind of a disappointment. She fails to convey in a convincing manner the guilt and agony that her character is going through. Moreover she looks really bad in some scenes and very good in some others which means there is no consistency. But most importantly she has got to lose that Haryanvi accent of hers, which is highly irritating. When I watched her in Khwahish, I thought the accent was distinctive to her character but that?s not the case as is very evident from this film. Your abs look fine so quit the Gym and start working on your diction Missy.

The Music of the film is the sort wherein a couple of songs stand out and the rest just fade away. The ones that do catch your attention are Kaho na Kaho and Bhege Hoth, especially the former which has a very soulful feel to it.

All in all I was disappointed with the film as such, but if you have nothing better to do on a rainy boring day then go ahead and give it a shot. You just might like it. And before I go, I will leave you with this thought..?Why is Bangkok the capital of Thailand?? Eh never mind. For those of you who didn?t get that, you are a clean soul and should remain so forever. Now I am outta here.
