Munnar - Breathtakingly Beautiful - Speed Boating. Review on Munnar

I and my wife spent our last weekend at Munnar, a haven of peace and tranquility.

Already there have been enough reviews about this idyllic tourist destination in God's own country.

I am here to share about our speed boating experience we had near Mattupetty Dam. 

The Entrance Fee to the Boating Place was Rs.10 per person. 

There were 2 categories of Speed Boating,

1. Five person per Boat @ Rs. 300 for 15 minutes.

   
   




2. Couples Boat @ Rs.300 for 15 minutes.

    

   
   

We took the Couples boat, its better you reach the boating place early, and otherwise you will have to stand in a big queue. The ticket counter will be closed at 5 pm. fortunately we got the tickets just before time.

We were standing at the shore for the boat to come; it is a high speed motor boat with steering. We got seated, wore our life jackets, with no time, the driver splashed the boat with a much higher speed than we thought, it was very thrilling, the boat unleashed the water and we were in between two mountains, with tall trees, birds. The driver will offer some help in taking photographs. I would advise you to take your video camera to shoot the speed of the boat. The driver was driving excellently in such a way that not even one droplet of water upon us. He also did some simple stunts like taking sharper turns, and rounding the same area, while returning he went into another part of the woods. The 15 minutes drive was like you were chasing a villain in James Bond's Film. It was much worth for Rs.300. When the driver stops the boat, he does it suddenly, this also adds to the thrill. We liked it very much and enjoyed to the core. If we would have got time we would have taken a drive once more. This drive covers the entire boundary of the lake.

If you are going to Munnar - Please Don't MISS SPEED BOATING. 

Regarding the Hotel - We stayed at Munnar Tourist Home, a budget hotel. We would not suggest honey moon couples to choose this hotel. It is near to many sightseeing places.
