Before getting married I had decided that I would go to Kerala for my honeymoon. It was the beginning of February and the heat had started to set in the south of India. Cochin was quite hot and we were just waiting to get a respite.

Sitting in our car we set out for Munnar. We'd heard a lot about the hill station from many... so were anxious to reach it. The first sight while entering Munnar is a wonderful waterfall that announces the arrival into Munnar. It gives you a hint of what's up for you next. The next turn off the ghat and you are simply awe struck, by the sudden chill in the air and the amazing view of lush green beds that go on till the eye can reach.

Soon we were passing by the curvy, winding roads thru the lovely tea gardens and a line of red flower plants on the edge of the gardens giving it a perfect contrast. A stopover at the gardens was a must. We climbed up the hill amidst the tea bushes to reach out to some tea pluckers for a photo session.

We stayed at Copper Castle, a lovely hotel with an amazing view of the tea garden valley. The hotel was embedded inside the mountain and the entire walls of the room were feeling like and air conditioner. Munnar was super cool, in more than one ways :)

We stayed in Munnar for 4 days, 4 days that were the best part of our trip. Places to visit near Munnar are Anamudi, the highest peak in south which is home to the rare Mountain Goat - The Nilgiri Tahr, Top Station and the lovely sandalwood forests across the border.

We were lucky enough to also witness some rain during our stay which made the tea gardens look all the more wonderful. Truly, Kerala is God's Own Country and Munnar - God's Own Love Nest.
