Sanju bhai did it again. Review on Munna Bhai M.B.B.S

2003 had witnessed several new directors, some of them were able to make an impression like Kal ho naa ho's Nikhal Advani or Saaya's Anurag basu. So munna bhai also star a new director Rajkumar Hirani.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra take the back seat and giving the chance to the editor Rajkumar Hirani to direct the movie. Munna bhai a don who want to become a doctor for his parent and what happen while becoming a doctor make the narration of the story.

So did munna bhai works on the big screen, lets see...

Munnabhai [Sanjay Dutt] lives with his gang in the bylanes of a dhobi ghat in Mumbai, takes pride in being a 'social worker' [they actually settle 'financial disputes' through dadagiri] and enjoys his booze, babes, brawls…

Munna's father, Hari Prasad Sharma [Sunil Dutt], an upright, moralistic man, believes that his son is actually a doctor running a charity hospital. Every year, when his parents arrive, Munna and his gang bathe, shave, don white coats and stethoscopes and pretend to be diligent doctors.

But the clever charade falls apart. Hari Prasad Sharma runs into an old friend, Dr. Asthana [Boman Irani], who has a daughter called Suman [Gracy Singh]. The two decide that their children, both doctors, would make a perfect match. Munna tries hard to save the situation, but his father discovers the truth. And all hell breaks loose.

Hari Prasad Sharma, now broken by the truth, removes his white spotless pagdi and cries. Munnabhai then takes a decision that would change many lives – he decides to become a doctor…

The new director Rajkumar hirani is a very decent director and he know his job well and could a great director in the coming days. He had handled certain moment with ease especially the ones between Sanjay dutt and sunil dutt.

The movie also have a great share of a great performances from the entire cast, brilliant dialoques[Abbas Tyrewala] especially the ones between Sanjay dutt and Arsad warsi and a decent screenplay[Rajkumar Hirani, Lajan Joseph and Vidhu Vinod Chopra].

Munna bhai is inspired from the 1998 PATCH ADAMS [starring Robin Williams, directed by Tom Shadyac], but MB movie is much better than it. The movie have several engaging moment which will bring a smile.

The pace of the movie didn't drop at any moment and will give full enjoyment to the audience from A to Z.

The music of Anu malik is also very good. The songs which stand out is Chhan Chhan and Suba hogaye Mamu. But some songs were not needed, the romantic track Chhan Chhan could be deleted. Some sence were also unnessasary as well and for this the editor come director looses marks for his editing.

Now towards the performances! Sanjay Dutt give an splendid performance which was expected from. Doing a role like this also suit him. So was the best of the lot. Sunil Dutt acted after 16 year and look good. He did his role as well.

Gracy Singh was outstanding, she was looking beatiful and sweet in her role. Jimmy Shergall entered in the second half but made his prence felt. Arsad Warsi, doing a role of a circuit was brilliant.

Boman Irani is fabulous. The film offers him ample scope to display histrionics and he makes the most of it by doing full justice to it. Rohini Hattangadi lends adequate support.

So, over all a great attempt by a debut. The movie one of the great comedy ever made.
