I like Bombay and I appreciate the Bombayites.

I like it for it's some unique places. Just to name a few-Taraporewala Acquarium, Jahangir Art Gallery, a short trip in the sea at Gate-way of India,Matheran in proximity,a glimpse of the western world at Colaba: these places have no match in the western India.I like the city also for some places like Fantasy Island, Juhu beach and Essel -world which are all time hot favourites of my daughter Khushali.

If you have money, Bombay has immense pleasure for you.

Now I would describe the salient features of people of Bombay. Bombayites never complaint, rather they find how to live with it. Be it the water shortage, traffic on the roads, jam-packed local trains or anything else.

I admire the tiffin service of Bombay. I think every one knows about it as never-to-fail service. They have a zero-defect service much earlier than word was coined by the management stalwarts.

I admire the sincerity of the people in what they do. Normal experience is, if it can be done, a Bombay person will do it without telling second time.

I hold high opinion about the ''small people'' like taxi-wala or so for his readiness to help a stranger in spite of his own problems or measuries.

What I don't like is overflow of people to the city in spite of several problems mounted up to the extend of not likely to be solved for next 50 years or more. The cost of housing, transportation, education etc are beyond the reach of the new in-flux.

Local trains are not for people under 10 or above 60. The middle-level man can hardly pile up enough money to make a 2 room house in 20-30 years service. One compelled trip within city can zero down your monthly saving.

The family life in Bombay does not reflect anything that is Indian. It is a life style governed by compulsions.

I do wish that both the people and the Government shall do something to check the number of people or the rate of rise of the people or the rate of rise of rate of rise of the people.

This is not to discourage any body but to keep a city and the people both in comfortable condition.
