When I was on my first trip to mumbai long back, I was visualising it on par with singapore, once the train entered mumbai I soon realised its some sort of a war ravaged zone with people living in cramped relief shelters.
Many of us blame the problems of mumbai on population migration,I agree to this point to certain extent.
If you look at shangai in china which has more population than mumbai, everything is well planned,organised and maintained.
Successive Governments and the BMC have done very little to look for plans to slove the problems of the Mega City.
Look at the way how the former Thana Municipal Commissioner transformed Thana, his strength are the people and he does the things with perfect planning and always looks for permenant remidies to the problem rather than looking for temporary solutions.
