I used the Sahar Airport after a long two year gap and really felt proud that our Prime Airport has started measuring up to International Standards. There are gates A-D with each gate allocated to certain airlines - pretty simple, unlike some airports where one Terminal is a distance away from another. You have a huge waiting area adjoining each gate - if you arrive early and are not allowed in for Check in, pay 60 bucks and use teh well appointed waiting area where you can rest at ease. Swanky new LCD panels show departure times and check in counter numbers.Finish check in, fill up a very straightforward embarkation card and go to Immigration - you don’t find Tom Cruises in super neat uniform but the staff are pretty quick. Security check takes sometime but is still quite quick.I wish CISF changes their khaki uniform - A nice White n blue combo would make even the Security staff feel smarter. The walk to teh boarding gates is no longer boring - the best restaurants/eateries are there to serve you what you want.Access to the boarding gate is good. On the way in from abroad, however, the excitement is not there.Carpets look unclean, the Swine flu screening is just a time consuming formality and baggage screening in the green channel is slower than before. Nowhere else would one find such affordable taxi services - extremely well managed;something I have been using even when the old version of the airport  was there. On the whole, I am impressed. Please remember that two old converging runways handle over 750 landings and take offs which is no joke. A shift in some indian traits(eg. housekeepers in the washrooms expect "something", poor attitude by some people) would make this airport much better. Nevertheless, great progress!
