Mumbai airport has undergone a sea of change since the last time I flew from here. It has become quite chick and I was amazed to see a fair amount of shops in the domestic terminal. Also the cleanliness was much better and it was far less crowded. Not sure if the crowd was lower because of it being a Sunday afternoon or due to the on-going flight rate hikes.
Surely privatisation is showing its results. The only drawback was such an important airport of the country does not have aero bridge.
The toilets were clean and surprisingly being used only by the passengers. Earlier it used to be completely messed up by the staff and CRPF guys with beedi butts lying around and the whole place used to have a bad stink like a public toilet.
There were also free newspaper after the security check and the area after security check was quite big(could accomodate about 400 - 500 passengers)
