A wonderfully crafted plot interwoven with humane emotions at a time when religious and regional opinions express themselves more openly than before.

I was impressed with the delicate handling of characters

and situations by Director Aparna Sen, with attention to minute details and getting the best out of every artist, especially the central characters, Meenakshi Iyer(Konkona Sen Sharma) and Jehangir Chowdhary alias Raja(Rahul Bose).

The movie goes to show ''Everything’s in a name'' unlike what Shakespeare said. Meenakshi Iyer, along with her year old son journey on the same bus as Raja. Enroute she develops a trust for him oblivious of his being of a different religion. Once she realizes his life could be in danger, all she does is give him a name Mr. Iyer - Subramaniam Iyer.

The whole plot revolves around how Meenakshi and Raja get emotionally close because of their proximity to each other

amidst the backdrop of religious fanaticism. One can identify with some of the perceptions deeply embedded

in our society, whatever is our upbringing or level of education.

An absolutely realistic ending, when life goes on....

A not to miss movie, hope we have more real movies which touch the heart and reflect the hypocrisy of human

mind.
