Mozilla is the best. Review on Mozilla Firefox

I have used Internet Explorer for about 5 years now, and also Netscape (various versions) in the last few years. But it is Mozilla that has caught my fancy since last year. It is perhaps the best internet browser available freely.

The Mozilla foundation, which has now separated from Netscape, wants to make the most efficient internet browser in the world because they believe in making internet browsing a smooth and enjoyable experience. This browser is equally good for both beginners as well as advanced level users. I am using the Mozilla 1.6 version. It works fine, and perhaps better than Internet Explorer.

For many of us, Internet Explorer is the de-facto browser, and we do not try Mozilla simply because it looks different. People say that they are not comfortable with it. The fact is that they do not try to look into it deeply. A closer look at Mozilla suggests that it supports many of the features of Internet Explorer. for example, some of the keyboard shortcuts are the same is in IE, like pressing escape key stops the download, pressing alt+D takes you to the address bar. Some of the terms used in this browser are different, like IE's Favorites have been replaced by 'Bookmarks', the 'Refresh' button is replaced by the 'Reload' button. But these small changes hardly make any difference the the browser. At the end of the day, they help in performing the same action with equally good efficiency.

Mozilla can be made to look different by allowing to download a skin. The best part is the download manager, which is not available in IE. This download manager helps the user keep track of all the stuff he wants to download from the internet. Tabbed browsing is a new phenomenon, which I feel Microsoft will also incorporate in any future release of IE. The browser comes with a built-in email client, an address book, a composer and a mIRC client.

Mozilla foundation has created different versions of this browser for different operating systems like Windows, Linux and Mac. Among other softwares developed by the foundation are the Firefox browser, the Thunderbird standalone email client and a new software called Bugzilla (I dont know much about it). Having used Mozilla for almost a year now, I always recommend it to my friends.
