Mouthshut.com sold their souls :-(. Review on Mouthshut

I really dont when mouthshut.com sold their souls. Today I just noticed the new categories box and clicked on it . I was shocked to find a category on Cigarettes!!!

I was shocked. This is indirect promotion of cigarrettes.

This will have a major impact on the readers.

I think it will promote smoking and will induce readers and especially teenagers to try out cigarettes based on these reviews.

The way each and every brand is listed makes me think that maybe the ITC has visited mouthshut.com.

I am very dissapointed and want to hear other member comments on this.

I seriously dont want to hear comments like ''its my/their life and we/they can do anything they want with health''.

The point here is about indirectly promoting a bad habit. Which is one of the biggest health hazards to a human bieng.

Tommorrow when we hear reviews like this ciggarette is not that harsh or maybe I dont feel that stuffy in my lungs after smoking this ciggarette I think it will promote ppl to start smoking(again).

Please remove this section a sincere request.

I have been a chain smoker for 12 years. I know what it does, I am just lucky to be alive with all my body parts working(even though I think that my lungs are not working to their full capacity)

Tommorrow there will be ppl who would have smoked cigarrettes for 12 year maybe on or two a day and felt no side effects. But I know of my friend who smoked only 2 - maximum 5 cigarrettes a day and got oral cancer in 6 months. One persons immune system might be stronger than others.

I think this section will promote smoking and should be removed immideatly.

I read a few comments stating that I am too hasty and I am belittlling mouthshut.com

But I would like say that I am not saying mouthshut.com is bad. By adding this category they have missed out a few points which I have pointed and also maybe the PR of the ciggarette lobby have done a good job.

I think this category is bad.

THe category has been fully understood. The category lists all the brands. That means this is meant for user reviews. That is consumption reviews. Is it not a section for creating awareness. So that I why I am so concerned.

I would also like to add a sincere request everybody who supports it please send an M2M to the admin or tania or atleast send some feedback.

This has been such a clean community and only we can help it stay that way.

Other points- the way cigarrette made it as over the counter product inspite of its bad effects and addictive nature needs another article. It is still under controversy in america. And ppl are still writing books and filing cases against the very approval of ciggarettes. But the industry is too big and powerful to let that happen.
