Mouthshut is a website with a difference.

It allows such an amazing freedom of speech that it’s unbelievable. Anyone can become a member here and start writing reviews right away. No credentials. No payment and no awkward questions. The kind of categories that are available here are diverse and varied. So one can write on and on for years without exhausting the topics to write on.

The best thing about Mouthshut is :

The review is not the hero. The reviewer is the hero.

Because there is so much importance on the reviewer’s opinions. Where else will you find yourself this valued ? Where else would they want to know which actors YOU hate most ? Where else will anyone give a damn about which songs of Udit Narayan YOU find the best ? Where else will you get so much warmth and acceptance ? Think about it.

Just check out the first few reviews of every member of MS and you will notice that they are very hesitant and unsure. It’s only after a certain time and a few reviews have passed that people feel free to express themselves, first in a tentative manner and then more boldly. Who do you think brings out this change ? It’s the general warm atmosphere of the Mouthshut community which gives confidence to each individual to let his/her creative juices flow and be themselves.

That brings us to the best part of Mouthshut : The Mouthshut community.

So many interesting, intelligent and myriad people of all age groups who are here, all encouraging, commenting, criticizing and making this place so alive and exciting. I sometimes wonder if I know Mouthshut members more extensively than people in my real life. And yes, the community is dynamic. It’s changing all the time as new members are joining every day making this place an ever changing kaleidoscope.

Of course, incentives like Star Writers, Hot Reviews and Hall of Fame only make this site more interesting since there is always a goal in front of the writers and the fact that there are no visible criteria to achieve them makes the journey more mysterious and interesting.

Keep in mind that every member of Mouthshut is special. Every member has something which no other member or rather no other person in this world can ever have. That special something has to nurtured and cherished, not blotted out in an attempt to size people down and make them uniform. So reach out to other mouthshut members and let them know that you are there for them, in shade and in shine. Spread some warmth and make someone’s day.

In the end. I salute the Mouthshut team, Faisal, Aarti and Jasmine (the only ones I know) and the ones that I don’t know who have put together this dream of an idea together and changed so many lives.
