I think I have spent a considerable amount of time on MouthShut.com, if not in terms of days but definitely in terms of hours. In this review I try to get under the hood to understand MoutShut better. Your comments will definitely do that!
ALthough slowly but steadily Mouthshut has started playing an important role in my life.

==> Watched and avoided many Hollywood and Bollywood movies after reading some great reviews from so many movie writers that we have here!
==> Got a list of places to visit (in Summer break ofcourse!) after reading fabulous reviews on travel. This time its east and probably Orissa!
Important Features on the Home page and Community center
- Search: I find MouthShut search engine easy and fast. Initially I had few problems using it. I could locate a product following the neat category links but not in the search. After few interactions with Jasmine I found that the search works as follows:
==> You must either type complete text without spelling mistakes; this displays directly the product or the member if found.
==> Or you must type atleast the first three initial letters and it will display all the products or members with those characters in them.
Opinions Wanted: I love to read more than I like to write. I frequently request others opinions on varying topics. I have seen that there is always someone or the other on MouthShut.com to give their honest opinion on the topic requested. You don’t believe? Try it out!
Tour / Help Center: I used this on my first visit and found it very useful. There are so many new members joining MouthShut everyday, I am sure they can benefit a lot by taking this tour. Also the HELP CENTER is extremely helpful. New members must go through it atleast once.
Community Center: This is the best section of the site.
I visit atleast once everyday, to get the:
Latest updates: Announcements, new features, archive of CEO’s and Aarti’s emails etc
Hall of Fame: Most happening members of this site. I try to read most of their reviews. Apart from being very helpful, they are equally impressive in the way they are formatted and presented. Go and check out yourself.
Best Debut: I feature in this!!, Honestly it was a pleasant surprise to see myself in it. All you new members, keep checking this, you never know you might be there next!!
Hot Reviews: read the best and most read reviews of recent times if you missed it by chance.
Members Flagged / Mouth Sealed: There’s no elevator to success, all must take the steps. Few thought it other way!
MouthPad: This feature makes writing on any product or service possible even if it is not listed. Just write your review and submit it. They will not only add the product but also your review.
Tell a Friend: I have used this quiet often. Infact I became a member after my friend smarty sent me an invitation using this. Benefit of having lots of trusted friends and invited friends are that you get many Member to Member emails and honest criticism! I receive many just exchanging greetings!!
Online Surveys: One fine morning I found this new and interesting feature added Online Surveys I took the surveys and found them simple, neat and easy. You too can try this! May be MS can use this feature to find out from its members the best reviews and best writers!
I hope this will help many new members visiting this site everyday. If any feature is missed out from Home page or the community center, please leave your comments!
