I have been a member of MS for a very long time though I write intermittently. When I joined MS around three years back, it was no longer as media savvy as it is today. These days MS is doing the rounds of the media pretty regularly. Does this mean that they have become very popular. Not really! It simply means that they have now got a good media manager.
Appearing on CNBC is a high point. No doubt about it. This happened with Faisal, the young CEO of MS. And he got very excited about the entire thing. He and his team consisting of Jasmine went to town publicising the entire event as if it were bigger than anything on earth. We have MS full of publicity banners. As if this was not enough they even filled our mail boxes with 'Don't miss this show' type of emails. Yesterday, Jasmine sent me another email asking me to write a review on the show. Come on, now this is the limit. I am sure Faisal was instructing her do so.
Faisal, please concentrate on building up the site. Try getting back the good members of MS back (Suyog, Vivek, Karan, Premjit, Rjois etc). I hated you for banning Suyog. You say MouthShut is a consumer forum and you care for your members then why did you ban your most prolific members. Not done.
I saw the show. It was comme ci comme ca. I mean Faisal consulting his own web site for buying some stupid product took the cake. And the interview was so bland. Where were the figures Faisal? We are profitable - how much my friend. And which big names are planning to partner you. If there was any truth to this then why did you not name them. And please, Faisal, stop forcing that fake accent on us. Sounds horrible.
Faisal Farooqui desperately wants to be a Young Turk. How about aiming to be a Young Indian?
