The new drink from pepsi mountain dew has just been launched in india even though the drink is pretty old.i used to read the advertisements in the basketball magazines my father brought from the usa.but the advertisement pepsi has come out for mountain dew is absolutely pathetic.
im sure all of you know it.they have come out with three of them.one of them in retaliation to the ad from sprite.all three of them were really bad.first of all the advertisement looked like a commercial for a kiddy drink or something.im pretty sure all these ads are for the teens to watch.the first mountain dew ad was where they all jumped from buildings and surfed and went went white water rafting but they have never drank mountain dew.how does doing all that have a connection with not drinking mountain dew?they way they scream after they take a sip of the drink is a little corny too.sounds like those tom and jerry cartoons.
the second ad is where one of the boys chases a cheetah on a bicycle and pulls the can of mountain dew out of its stomach.well I guess they guy must have had some rocket boosters attached to the bicycle to catch that cheetah which runs at a speed of 100 km/hr.or superman maybe.the next thing you see is that he is pulling the can out of the cheetah's stomach and drinking it ''cheetah bhi peetah hai''.i guess the people they selected were a bunch of jocks who cant make out the difference between stupid and sensible.the typical moose types.
the third one that came out was in retaliation to sprite's mocking of mountain dew which I thought was hilarious.there they had a person drinking sprite but named it as ''frite''.and had people bunjee jumping and the guy drinking sprite was urinating in his pants...there still is no connection between the drinks and the advertisements.
the mountain dew ads are really bad and definitely need to come out with a new idea.otherwise the drink will be mocked by other cola giant coke.the advertisements have no connection to what they show and neither do they tell us about the drink.the slogan ''do the dew'' sounds pretty dirty dont you think.thats why half my peers in class laugh at this advertisement.in this generation where half the words mean something dirty or stupid I think pepsi just blew it
