The primary objective of an advertisement is that it informs and creates awareness about a brand and its products to the target customers. Mountain Dew ads seem to lack this basic principle.
-In today's competitive world, every company is trying to show that they are superior to their rivals. True, but at the same time, the ads and promos of the companies must educate the benefits of using their brands/products.
-All the Mountain Dew ads aired so far are only retaliating to the ads of its rivals. None of the ads of Mountain Dew have been informative. That is, they have failed to convince the people as to what are the benefits of consuming mountain dew and as to why one should consume Mountain Dew ahead of any other brand of soft drinks.
-The target customers of Mountain Dew still remain in the blue. According to me, the target customers of Mountain Dew can be hell-raisers!! That's what the ads of Mountain Dew have portrayed so far.
-All the ads of Mountain Dew have had models who have portrayed hell-raising persona. All the ads of Mountain Dew have come up in retaliation to the ads aired by Sprite.
-Personally, I feel that Sprite tastes better than Mountain Dew. The latest ad of Mountain Dew (EVEREST CHALLENGE) has attacked Thums-Up. Well, I am pi**ed off seeing these retaliating ads of Mountain Dew.
-My eyes are dying to see an ad that actually shows the benefit of consuming Mountain Dew. These ads can heavily backfire on Mountain Dew if their rivals come up with ads that actually attack ads of Mountain Dew.
Well, lets hope that next time Mountain Dew comes up with ads that are informative and not mere attacking ones!!
