Just go and watch it!. Review on Mounam Pesiyudey Movie

After a long search for a new director, we have a promising debutant in Kollywood and he is none other than Amir. The man who has worked as a assistant director with Bala. The protégé has made his guru proud with his first movie Mounam Pesiyadhe starring Surya and a host of new faces including Trisha. The movie is miles higher than some Kollywood masala flicks and well could turn out a new genre of movies.

Surya is Goutham and he hates girls and does not believe in all false romances and he is strictly opposite to his friend Kannan played by Nandha and we also see Anji has their friend who works in Surya's restaurant or cafe shop. Surya gets the blame for all the mischief of Kannan who is in love with Maha played by another new face Neha. Trisha is Kannan's cousin and the family decide to get them married and Kannan is heartbroken but he gets a life when he comes to know thru Goutham that Trisha is in love with a guy. Meanwhile Goutham is followed by a mysterious girl who gives him cards and prank calls but we along with Surya are made to believe that it is Trisha.

When Trisha calls Goutham and opens a can of secrets we are astonished and are left clueless. Soon Maha's family comes to know of her love with Kannan and all hell breaks loose. Now before reading any further just imagine what other movie directors would have done, they would have made Surya sing a sad song and may have joined the other couple but Amir makes us tremble with excitement and we are treated to a stunning climax. All the credit to the director for this spectacular climax and the song before the climax.

For the climax try going watching it in a theatre near you and go along with your friends. The movie has some big minus points like the stupid Valentines day song and the fights but they are overshadowed by some simple plus points. No separate comedy track, no item numbers, no double meaning dialogues and above all no heroism. This is one of the movies where you can't narrate it as a story but as a screenplay you can bring the movie back to life.

Cameraman Ramji gets the equal applause along with the director and the music director and the stunt director follow suit. Yuvan could have tried more in the background score but he makes us jive with his songs best of which is the last song and the music Love All day.

Surya has given his best performance in all the departments including dance sequences. Nandha and other cast members are a treat to watch while Trisha is sweet and she needs more good roles like this to stabilize herself.

If this movie is a hit then let new directors depend more on the storyline and screenplay rather than the hero or the heroine or even the music.
