Motorola's Moto X Play is the latest mid range smartphone from the company. But does it have enough features to turn the game on its side we'll try to find out in our hands on review.

DESIGN AND DIPLAY:

Moto X Play has got good design like all the moto family members. It has got a textured curved back which makes the device easy to hold. On the front side it looks similar to moto g 3. It is a bit heavy as it weighs 169 grams.Talking about the display it has got a 5.5 inch 1920x1080 full HD(~403ppi) screen with corning gorilla glass 3 protection. The screen is sharp, crisp, bright and awsome. The colours look a bit over saturated and sometimes pinch in your eyes but thats not a big issue. Watching movies is a pleasure on this screen. One disappointin thing is that it does not have a fingerprint sensor while most of its rivals have.

PERFORMANCE:

Moto X  Play is comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octacore processor under the hood coupled with 2GB Of RAM. It comes with Adreno 405 graphics. The performance is good however there were some minor lags during heavy gaming. On performance side its a decent device. However there are some heating issues. It comes in two versions 16 and 32 GB and sports micro SD card upto 128 GB.

CAMERA:

Moto X Play boasts of 21 Mega pixel camera and its the only one in this price range to cross 20s. The camera quality is great however the camera app is does not have a shutter button which I personally don't like. The front camera is of 5MP and clicks good selfies.

OS AND BATTERY:

Moto X Play comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop and will soon recieve Marshmellow update. Its UI gives stock android experience. The moto assist feature which is a great feature through which you can control your phone with your voice is a very good feature. It comes with 3630mAh battery which will easily last you one complete day after normal usage.

FINAL WORDS:

Motorola has really made a big move by launching this phone in his price bracket and the Moto X Play does presents a good competiton to its rivals. If you watch a lot of movies on your phone and you have fond of photography this phone should be on the top of the list. However for heavy gamers this may not be the right choice for you. For alternatives you may look at Qiku Q Terra, One Plus 2 and Huawei Honor 6.Please post your comments about how you like this review.
