Don't Buy CRAP Moto G5 Plus. No Value for Money. Review on Motorola Moto G5 Plus 32GB

I am owning moto G5 plus since 18th May 2017 and here is the real review from Verifed Buyer.

I bought this stupid phone for its looks and dedicated SD card and so called good camera.

Contrary to other reviews elsewhere, I am writing here what I felt as a real phone user.

CONS -

1. The Biggest problem with Moto G5 Plus is the CALL QUALITY and SPEAKER.

Even with Speaker volume on MAX, sound is LOW like hell.

You just can't hear a single word with Speaker in the traffic on road.

Even without Speaker the call volume is low.It is difficult to hear without concentration.

I just can't believe moto has compromised on call quality.

WHAT IS THE USE OF HAVING A SMARTPHONE THAT DOES NOT RING ENOUGH LOUDLY?

The basic purpose of having Phone is defeated here.

Even the Audio quality is very poor.

Ear phones provided alongwith the phone are just mediocre.

My Sony Erisson feature phone(w800i) is having better Audio and Call quality and great Ear phones.

1. NETWORK Issue - I am not able to connect to JIO network in my home. I seriously feel this is the phone issue because My tab(Iball Slide and the other Oppo Neo 7, Both with Android Lollypop

are pretty much catching the JIO network).

1. I was disppointed to see the there is no NOTIFICATION LED in this phone. Even my Oppo Neo 7(Rs.8500) has it.

It is shame on mot that it can't provide NOTIFICATION LED in Rs.17, 000 phone.

4.There are few annoying bugs -

Auto Rotate is not working well with Phone's movement.You get this problem while watching You tube videos

While scrolling camera pics, the back swipe from the last photo does not open Camera view(In One Touch NAV button mode)

The PERCENTAGE of Charging shown on Lock Screen is real joke. It JUST shows ANYTHING.You have to swipe down the top settings panel to see the real battery left.

Some shortcuts like Stop ringing when you take the phone in hand are not working well.The screen just locked and I could not see Who is calling.

There is no sound when phone is plugged for charging(Even if I amde that option ON).You have to see the battery icon to make sure it is really charging.

1. Connectivity -

This stupid phone is not detected by my Windows 7 Lapops as Bluetooth device( I tried from Dell and Lenovo laptops with Win 7)

Even paring with my Oppo device was a problem. I had to forget the connecttion and get the code every time.

OTG Adapter - My Moserbaer Pen drive is not detected when connected thr. OTG adapter. I had to format the Pen drive unnecessarily . Fortunately I had its back up.

This did not work with other OTG cable as well.

6.Charging - THIS IS NOT a FAST charging phone as advertised my moto. I feel like suing moto. It takes complete 2 hours on the original Moto charger for 100% charging.

Had it been 80% charging in 20 minutes I would have called it Fast Charge.

Also the phone gets considerably hot while charging( Love Metal and get HEATED.)

1. Android Nougat - As promoted in various reviews STOCK ANDROID experience on Nougat - It is shear Nonsense.

I had to download various Icon packs and Launchers to get the Good feel of handling the phone. Oppo custom UI is better.

That Nougat improves battery life is only a myth.I don't see any good it does to battery life.

Even to put your own Ringtones and Notifications you have to Google search and create these folders.

8.Camera - The LOW light photographs are not clear.In fact they are so black that even with photo editor I could not manage them to correct.

Panorama capture is not perfect.It takes too long to record.

The Gesture to activate the Camera with Double Wrist movement is weird.

Camera performance is ok only in GOOD Lighting conditions.(Both front and rear)

Colour Reproduction is BAD. I took pictures of Orange flowers and they don't even look like Yellow.

1. Looks - Wih only 2 color options, I chose Golden. But in artificial(Office) lighting it looks Pale boring Gold.

The Camera bump on the Back is really annoying. You can't keep the phone properly(even with back cover).It is likely to damage the camera.

1. Build Quality - I wonder why nobody has not yet written about the flimsy SIM Card Tray the phone has got.Plus there was no marking of SIM1 and SIM2 on it(Believe me).

I also had problem while inserting SD card since its placement is weird.

For a moment I thought like I got REFURBISHED piece from Flipkart.The OPPO Triple SIM Tray is way better than this crap.

The reviewers on net are simply going ga aga on the metal body but for me the Inside is equally important.

1. The battery should have been REMOVABLE. It is much better for HARD Reset with Power button when Stupid Android hangs up.

   
   




2. My I ball Tab has 4 options for Poower button including Screenshot, restart, Shutdown and one more. The stupid moto g5 plus has only one.

   
   




3. Battery backup is good for a day and half for user like me. I dont play games. Watch videos for 1 hour max.Dont chat.Location off.Net off during night.

   
   




4. Adaptive Brightness is not responsive.

   
   




5. The UNISTUFF Scratch guard which I bought alongwith Phone was NOT delivered alongwith Phone. It arrived 4 days later. I could not understand this stupidity by Flipcart.

   
   

The Quality of UNISTUFF Scratch guard is not good.It is not smooth and attracts finger print smudges. IT simply does not Fit the phone correctly.My advice to all - Pl. don't buy accessories like Back cover and scratch guard Online.

It is always better to spend some time at SHOP to see the FITMENT part.

Pros -

ONE TOUCH NAV Button with HOME - You will get hooked to it and will hate the onscreen buttons . I bet.

Finger Print reader is fast.

Flash light is good.Off screen gesture(CHOP) is good.

FHD Display is good.

CONCLUSION -

Actually I waited for long time for Indian players like Micromax to offer a solid Budget phone and then settled for this Idiot moto crap.

When Flipkart offered 1000 Rs. discount in addition to one on Credit card I could not resist.

But Considering above big list of CONs I don't think the phone offers any value for money.

My adivce to all -

1.Don't buy Online . I feel it is better to go to shop and get Demo of LG or Sony phone(OR Samsung /Oppo)

2.Don't buy Moto G5 Plus. There is no value for money.If you can hold till this year end you will get better choice. The competetion is fierce in the Indian market and

WE INDIANS DESERVE NOTHING BUT THE BEST.

I wish the Indian brands All the Best and hope for the time when we will get rid of the stupid chinese phones.
