Motorola expands it G series. It launches two smartphones G4 and G4 plus. Today I review the Moto G4 plus.
Design : As by looks it looks somewhat different from its predecessor and in a good way. The metal frame is good to hold but feel somewhat plasticky. Despite this the build is quite good and sturdy. Front is dominated by a 5.5inch LCD screen. Above the screen there is earpiece which also double up as a loudspeaker, front camera and other usual set of sensors. Just below the display, there is a fingerprint scanner and a microphone hole which looks quite odd in my opinion. Top has 3.5mm audio jack and below has micro USB port. The rear has the camera unit with moto dimple sits below the camera. The device is weighs at 155 grams and 7.9mm thick at the thinnest and 9.8mm thick at thinnest point. Dimensionally it just a average smartphone. After removing the back cover there is two SIM slots which also support 4G SIM and microSD card slotanfd also the non-removable battery. The phone is good in bulid and in looks but not handy to use with one hand.
Display : This time Moto uses a big 5.5inch display with Full HD resolution first for any Moto G series Smartphone the display is quite good but attracts fingerprints. The display come with two display settings one is vivid and other is natural. In vivid mode the saturation is increased and colours looks more neutral in the other mode. Viewing angles are also good. Display is quite good.
Camera : Device comes with a 13MP rear with phase detection, laser autofocus and dual LED flash. This is the aspects where the devices shine. This is best camera we seen in the price bracket of sub 15k. Camera captyres very good shots. Videos come out just ordinary. The front 5MP also captures good shots. It done it's duty well. The camera setup on this device is best in its segment.
Processor : Under the hood, it has Snapdragon 617 octa core processor coupled with 2GB or 3GB RAM depends on the variant you choose. You better to spend some money and choose the 3GB variant. The processor is good and works swiftly with the stock Android. But you get a better performance device at low prices than this. Xiaomi Redmi note 3 and LeEco Le 2 comes with powerful processors.
Software : Like all moto devices G4 comes with nearly a stock Android like UI. The UI is very swift and responsive. It comes with the latest Android Marshmallow.
Features : It is a dual SIM 4G enabled device comes with usual set of connectivity and other features. G4 plus comes with a fingerprint scanner on the front which works excellent.
Battery : It packs a 3000mAh battery which easily last for a day on average usage. It also supports fast charging which is a good thing.
Verdict : Moto G4 Plus is a good smartphone. But competition offers much more value for money. It has a average build and looks just average, display is also average, camera is excellent, performance is also average. If camera is your prime needs in this budget you go for it. But if you want a well rounded package. You better look for the competition like LeEco 2 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
