Mote E 2015 or 2nd generation was released in February this year.Despite having comparatively lower spec sheet than the competition, it is one of the best selling phones alone in India.I bought the 4G version months ago to use it as my secondary phone.Except 4G and and chipset both are the same device.

So in this review, I would explain why to buy it or why is it better than the competition(Possibly the redmi 2 which is one of the best Value for money).

Here's my review, will keep it simple and to the point.

DESIGN & Build Quality

Like all Motorola phones, the Moto E features an ergonomic curved back complete with a Motorola'M' finger dimple just below the camera. Soft-touch plastics stretch across the removable casing, and the 12.3mm-thick, 145g shell oozes a solidity that makes the Moto E feel like it's built to last. Factor in the Gorilla Glass 3-coated screen and water-resistant coating and you have a handset that's destined to survive any rough treatment. The buttons are a bit stiff, which I personally liked as they didn't get pressed easily in the pocket.

Hopefully its the best build quality you could get at this price.

Technical Specifications:

Display: 4.5' Capacitive Touchscreen

Resolution: 540 x 960(256 ppi)

RAM: 1 GB

Battery: 2390 mAh

Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410

DISPLAY

-

Decent and not the best at this price. The colors are slightly to the warm side.Which I don't prefer. Also the brightness level is good for good sunlight readability. It don't have and HD display which can be seen in other phones in this budget.Though you may not find any difference comparing with them unless you look closer. Its good enough to watch movies and all.

CAMERA Quality

-

It definitely gets the job done.Sporting the same 5-megapixel rear camera as last year's model, this time the Moto E gains a VGA camera in its front. Video recording has now improved to 720p at 30fps and no longer exhibits clunky brightness shifts when auto adjusting exposure, but photo white balance and exposure in low-light conditions remain poor. And should you want to take advantage of all five of the Moto E's megapixels, you'll have to shoot in 4:3 as a 16:9 photo only uses 3.7 megapixels.

Its still enough for normal on the go shots. But I would recommend Redmi 2 if camera is a main aspect for you.

PERFORMANCE

-

Phone is amazingly smooth and Loliipop is very fluid to use. Moto E's biggest advantage is the lack of Bloatware which makes other phone hang and perform poorly.

It holds the mid range snapdragon 410 chipset clocked at 1.2 Ghz.Though the 3G version has snapdragon 200 which is a bit behind in performance.(Redmi 2 also has the same chipset-snapdragon 410).The same chipset can be seen in Galaxy grand prime, moto g2, and almost the same snapdragon 400 in lumia 730.Though it can handle day to day needs and some good amount of HD gaming with a decent GPU Adreno 306.Capable of modern combat, asphalt 8, real racing and much more. And most importantly it doesn't heat up.

BATTERY Performance

-

No doubt, its the beast in battery backup. Can give you better and long lasting battery performance than the competition.it will easily last you a day, perhaps into a second if you don't push it too hard.

Nothing much to say.Best for travelers .

Audio Quality

-

The front positioned speaker is more preferred by most of the users.best sound experience while watching movies or videos. Also perfect for music. Its clear, crisp and loud enough.Investing in a Bluetooth speaker will result in better bass performance.

-Call quality is perfect, no issues yet

Verdict

-

If you're looking for a cheap knockabout phone that doesn't compromise heavily on features, the Moto E 2nd Gen is a cracking choice. It's good-looking, compact and well built, and the improved performance and good-quality screen seal the deal and extraordinary battery life.As I said it may not be good on papers but the actual experience is far superior and Premium.

The 4G version with snapdragon 410 definitely boosts its performance
