Here is my first review. I have always used reviews for guidance so thought I should also contribute something.

I have been using this phone for some 4 months now.

Technical Specifications -

·          Linux Based OS

·          Triband GSM - GSM 900, 1800, 1900;

·          Camera 2 MP

·          Display 1600x1200 pixels

·          Java MIDP 2.0

·          FM radio

·          Document viewer(MS Word, Excel, PPT, PDF)

·          MPEG4/MP3 player

·          Business card recognition

·          Barcode scanning

·          Calculator

·          Organizer

Here is what I was looking for in a phone: -

·          Since I owned Sony W810i, and was used to listening to awesome sound, I wanted a phone which good sound quality

·          I was not looking for awesome camera but off-course should be decent

·          I should be able to read documents(.doc & .pdfs specially) while on the move

·          I wanted to have LARGE display

·          A good-looking phone. Personally, I like BIG phones and am not very fond of slim phones.

Here is what you get: -

·          Sound quality is GOOD. Its better with the wireless snoop. Has AWESOME sound clarity. The sound does not break while you are listening to music using snoop(breaks if the battery is down or you are too far from the phone). The sound is not as cool as the'Mega Bass' mode in SONY Walkman phones but its very good. Better than the Nokia Music Edition phones. However, it lacks loudness. Sometimes you like to increase the sound only to discover that it is the maximum ROKR can offer(Anyways I sometimes amplify the songs before putting them on my cell to compensate for the loudness: P)

·          Camera is average. It is certainly not, what you will be expecting for 2 MP resolution. And well if you are thinking of clicking pictures when its dark:P.Please carry a lamp:). However, if you slick pictures in daylight.they are good(Thankfully).

·          Looks wise I LOVE this phone. It has for a LARGE display - its bright and clear. The font is pretty. I like the candy-bar style of the phone. So conclusion - looks wise. Its FLAWLESS:). Even the way they have designed the menus and options, its DAMN NEAT. I have used Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. Seriously, I loved the amount of thought that must have been put to design the menus & options.

·          You can read'docs' with this application called'Viewer'(supports MS Word, Excel, PPT, and PDF as well) . I do not think you can edit the'docs'.

·          You can use the phone as a web-cam & that is cool. There is a simple setting, you connect it to your machine and VOILA.it detects it as a webcam:).

·          The Phone has a mini USB port & you get USB cable with it.  So, it gets charged when it's connected to your machine. In addition, it has a standard jack(3.5mm jack) for connecting headphones(This is cool).

·          Connectivity with the machine is seamless. No hassles here. Machine will detect it as a USB storage device even if you do not have Motorola Phone Tools installed.

·          You get File Manager, Google Search, Photo Editor, Voice Recorder, Calculator, Viewer, Email, STK, Modem, and Music ID etc.

·          You get Business Card Reader(BCR). With this program, the camera does the job of extracting details from the Visiting Card and placing them in Contact details.

·          Ok.Last is messaging. I did not find it as painful as most of people think it is. YES, off course, you have to use the stick that comes with it, but it has handwriting recognition that is cool. Plus thankfully you can make folders and store as many messages as you can+ you can password protect your messages(For those of you who might find this obvious. My W810i could store some 250 messages(HATED THAT), I could not password protect them.and in my 1 year with that phone I could not find a single free third party software to password protect the messages)

*Conclusion: -

*Buy this phone for large bright & beautiful display, Good sound quality but do not want to buy Sony Ericsson, Average Picture quality & loads of other cool features:). I LOVE it:).

You can buy this phone without the snoop(which comes for some Rs. 4800 from authorized Motorola store) & connect your personal headphones to it since it has 3.5 mm Jack. The phone without the snoop comes for some 10, 500 Rs. You get a standard(NOT wireless) handset with it.

Ok now since this is my first ever review; you guys have to provide feedback:). Make sure you DO!

NOTE: *

*My friend brought Motorola Snoop S9 some 6 months back. He has tried using it with Nokia Express Music and it worked with that.He brought it for 4800 Rs. It is in perfect condition & want

to sell it for approx Rs. 3500. Let me know if you are interested+ are in Pune. Mail @ no.feat@gmail.com
