I had a pleasant experience using Nokia 6600, and Nokia 3230. Suddenly, I realized that Nokia 6600 is too popular and there is no pride attached to carry a 6600. And, I did a mistake by disposing off a Nokia to go for Motorola A760.

The phone looks interestingly charming initially. But here is my experience after 5 months of usage -

Pros -

  1. Comparatively fast processing. It works on Linux and its faster than Symbion 60 series.

  2. Touch Screen. The screen is responsive and I never had problem using it for normal phone features.

  3. Minute Minder. I love this feature which beeps every 50 seconds, very helpful in making international calls where I don't want to be ending my call 5-10 seconds past the minute pulse.

  4. Clam Shell design. This design is loved by many including me.

Cons -

  1. Nothing new about the features. The normal stuff.

  2. Very Very poor camera.

  3. Non-intuitive user interface

  4. Touch Screen. Yes, its a Pro and Con. I am bored of it now, and miss the comfort of buttons. Typing a SMS used to be a pleasure, but now its a pain. You can't type it with a single hand, and without using stylus.

  5. No themes or installables available on the net.

  6. Low vibration and ring volume. I often miss my calls as I don't hear it ringing or buzzing.

  7. No service. Motorola doesn't seem to be interested to service this phone any more as its out of production. I am stuck with a damaged cover.

  8. Clamshell Design - Yes, its a con too. You can't open the phone with one hand, though with little practise you can manage to. However, it still is not very pleasing over a long run. There is no way u can reject a call without opening it up.

  9. Batter Life isn't that great when compared to Nokia. But I won't say its too bad. It can run for 2 days with normal usage (.5 - 1H Talk Time daily).

  10. Very poor in switching to roaming profile. U may have to restart the phone to gain the signal while doing home/host network switch or vice versa.

  11. My Nokia displayed my location (CELL INFO), but A760 doesn't.

Nokia lovers/users, this phone is definitely not for u. You will soon start missing the comfort of Nokia interface.
