This review was back in early 2006.Much has changed since then and back then I had not travelled much outside India.Looking back,I miss Moti Mahal for its traditional indiam fare , which I miss living int he U.S.I found the ambience good, food good , service good, prices fair, decor good, cleanliness good. We had a mutton biryani and hakka noodles with chicken . we found the quantity of biryani was good for one person though it was a bit oily but that is expected for this type of dish. the mutton was cooked well and very fresh. The Haka noodles were cookied with very little oil and generous quantity of chicken. Serving is more than enough for one person. The prices are bearable for its location . A meal for two costed us Rs.600. It is typicall indian/Mughlai style . Service is good with friendly servers. There should be a section for non smokers, non drinkers . Biryani needs to be less oily. Filtered water should be served free. Background music would create a better ambience. Prices need to be in the reach of middle class . I would recommend including some continental dishes inteh menu.
