Hospital and facilities are generally good. Plenty of staff, professional and cordial, though a little arrogance can be seen at the main reception.
Consulted with Dr.Sireesha Reddy at Motherhood, Hebbal and she is a nice doctor, spends time for explaining everything and very convincing as well. Recommended gynaec to new mothers, especially.
Cost wise, it’s at the very, very higher side. They have different packages for different insurers with the cost varying up to 50% which I don’t really understand at all and it seems to be unique to this hospital. Not sure how it benefits the patients. Recently had a friend of mine going through C-section and tubectomy together which costed her an overall of INR 1.25 lakhs and the stay was for 3 days. If we break up the bill, tubectomy alone is 25k(procedure cost is approx 15k and consumables cost 10k).
Major set of cost lies in consumables and pharmacy. So just in case the stay need to be prolonged due to any complication or follow-up to the the mother/baby, you can expect a heavy addition to the overall bill. An example can be newborn jaundice which is very common in these days and it can prolong the stay for another 2 or 3 days. Considering all these points, I think is the charges are quite unreasonable compared to the facilities and care from similar facility hospitals nearby. Another issue is with their food provider as they don't have a fully functioning and efficient canteen and the dietitian suggested food can take 2-3 hours deliver after the suggested consuming time. For bystanders, you have to depend on outside hotels.
My two cents is visit there well in advance to your planned date but bear in mind about the total costs. Also, get a thorough idea about the overall costs for any procedure including the consumables/pharmacy and talk to multiple staffs for a clear understanding. Also important is checking your insurance coverage and it's related packages because they have a very complicated system while making claims to your insurance provider.
