Morning Raga----before I say anything else about the movie, I feel it necessary to specify in advance, that this movie is an art and will not be understood and appreciated by every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Being bad with names I must comment the purity with which the scenes in the movie have been captured, the credit for which goes to the director. The music is excellent and emotes the traditionalistic approach of Carnatic music along with a dash of western music.

Quite frankly, I do not appreciate Carnatic music to a great extent, but the music of this film made me listen and not just listen, but enjoy. And if it can do that to a youth like me, I am sure if the movie was given a wider publicity, it may have appealed to a larger audience.

The lead actress Shabana Azmi has delivered yet another heart-rending performance with the perfection, that re-establishes her as a great actress. Perizaad Zorabian could have cut down the over enthusiastic movements in the first song she sings in the movie. But it seems the magic of Shabana Azmi has rubbed down on her as well and as the movie further goes on she seems to have caught up with some of the tricks of acting from the veteran itself.

Lillete Dubey and the milkman make an adorable team and have been presented realistically. The narration of the story is fast paced keeping the viewer interested, lingering only on certain moments that need a special attention.

The overall approach of the movie is such that, a story is to be delivered and is done effectively, with no frills attached, by which I mean the absence of unwanted song and dance sequences and overly melodramatic scenes, making the movie a pleasant change from the other movies being shown at the same time.

On a personal note, if I were to rate the movie, I would give it a four and a half out of five and with that I guess I have said it all!!!
