Black Aoud is a dramatic fragrance – but don't confuse that with overly strong. It's medium bodied and very rich, a bubbling potion of velvety rose and the old leather feel of labdanum, mixed with mystical oud tree oils. It's a rare journey somewhere where you've probably never been and will beg to return to…all it takes is a little whiff of this amazing, rare elixir. If you seek a deeply incensed rose and sandalwood fragrance, one that would have scented the brightly dyed pillows of a harem, you need look no further.
See, a lot of Montale's are oud, rose, musk, & sandalwood mixed in different quantities & infused with some other notes at lower quantity to add some variation. The result is Montale fragrances smelling quite similar that you could tell "Oh, is that Montale you're wearing?".
Well, Black Aoud is arguably the best product of this equation. It's a very rosey oud with a hint of patchouli & orange, although I swear I smell some lemony citrus as well, to keep it fresh.
It's quite a lovely smell, to be honest, in the sea of oud of fragrances in the market.
The performance is unquestionable! Strong sillage & long longevity.
All the best in the hunt for oud.
