What a film, I could watch this film twenty times and not get bored of it.

This animated film is made by Disney/Pixar and is along the same lines as Toy Story. Don’t be mistaken in thinking it’s for kids, we all found it hilarious!

The story is about a monster world which is powered using the screams from kids. Monsters go through doors into the kids bedrooms and night and scare them. Their screams are collected and used for power. The main characters in the film are Sully (big fluffy blue monster) who is an expert scarer and Mike (little green man with one eye) who is Sully’s assistant. Of course you have to have a baddy, this is Randell, a lizard type thing! One day a kid escapes into the monster world. Anything from our world is classed as contagious so a kid running around is not a good thing! Mike and Sully spend the rest of the film trying to hide her and get her back to her room. They name her Boo and dress her up as a baby monster but obviously things are never as easy as they seem!

The humour in this film is great, we were laughing all the way through it. The soundtrack is one of those cartoony catchy ones which gets you singing it for ages afterwards. I don’t think a day has passed when I haven’t sung “put that thing back where it came from, so help me………..” to someone.

The voices for the characters all fit perfectly, John Goodman as Sully is great, just how you imagine him to sound when you see his picture. Mike is really hyperactive so Billy Crystal makes it work really well.

The film is the perfect length, not too long so it drags and not too short so you don’t feel that you’ve missed out. Not being a three hour film it’s great for kids as well.

This is going to be one of the best films of the year. Don’t miss this one, I would pay to go and see it again and will be pre-ordering it on DVD as soon as it’s available!
