Never take it. Review on Monster

We were looking for getting the interior works for our flat done and went through the usual chain -- carpenters, designers etc. We were interested in quality and looks in that order and as everyone else we had our own budget constraints. I was scouting around for more information on the net, but nothing convincing came out of it. During this process of searching, someone on our society's mailing list mentioned about "The Karighars". I went to their web-site ( the karighars.com) and it seemed reasonable. We established a first-level contact, had a meeting, Abhishek (the owner) showed us the work done in his home (his model apartment) and it looked reasonable. Abhishek sent us a first quotation, we negotiated and all of us converged onto the work and the cost-estimate. The vibes were good and I just decided to take my chance with him -- it also helped that he is an entrepreneur and his wife, Aashita, was in a software company before she quit to assist him full-time. It felt good to be talking to folks who understood their clients.

As will all the builders, we literally had to push ours out of the house and in the process the handover date got delayed a lot. I informed Abhishek perhaps a few days in advance about the handover date (we ourselves didn't know it as the builder was stretching it every day) and he had everything setup up, I was mighty impressed. That first day itself told me a lot on what to expect going forward. They set up the initial structure for the various items, got a go ahead from our side and started on the inside laminates. Their team of carpenters is very polite and professional. They have never used the bathrooms of our house, they clean the house everyday before work, come on time leave on time and utilize the work time well. Though the entire work is not complete yet, but whatsoever has been finished has come out exceedingly well in a reasonable cost.

Interactions with Abhishek/Aashita have been very productive as well. When we were selecting the laminates we spent several hours with them over several days, never once could I find the enthusiasm missing. The best part is that they will give their suggestions/opinions and still if you want something else, will happily do it. We have taken their opinion on several occasions and not taken it on a few others but we are very happy with the end results. It has been done exactly the way we wanted and within our budget. Of course the charges are slightly higher than what you would get if you are dealing directly with carpenters, but like anything else, they bring their value add and hence charge for it. On top of that, Abhishek is very quality conscious and uses only top-quality materials -- Hettich channels, Century Ply, top-end laminates, Marine Ply as and where needed. There have been few occasions when we have asked him to reduce quality, say, for panelling but he has been adamant ! It is quite evident that he has been in this industry for long.

Work is done, extremely satisfied with the outcome, schedule, interaction etc. Highly recommended to anyone for interiors.
