When I decided to buy Ford Classic(old Fiesta), I had two options in choosing the dealers: Fortune and Mody. I chose Mody in Begumpet simply because they offered slightly better deal for my old car than Fortune.
But all my problems started after paying the booking amount. 1. The finance guy has applied for a higher amount of loan than I needed, saying that stamp duty and processing fee would be covered in loan, but I had to pay that in cash to the bank and the loan sanctioned was 25K more than what I needed. Finally I got back the 25k from Mody after 1 month
I booked Paprika Red colour and they said it wll take 4-5 weeks from the time they place an order to Ford and they will do that immediately. After 2 weeks they said my vehicle is invoiced with Ford and will be delivered in another week. But after waiting for 4 weeks they say that Ford is delaying the manufacturing this colour and asked to choose an alternate colour. I was freaked out because this could have been communicated when the vehicle is invoiced and by then all my booking and loan amount has been payed off to Mody and they wanted to take advantage of this situation by getting rid off some of the excess stock coloured vehicles they had(white, grey, chill). When I threatned to cancell the booking, they delivered the red vehicle in 4 days.
While delivering the vehicle they have issued the TR and said that once my old vehicle is transferred to new buyer, they will get my permanent registration and I assumed that everything was included in On road price. I was following up regularly and never during this time they mentioned anyting about the charges for Permanent registration. After 2 weeks they call me to say that the old vehicle is transferred to new buyer, but they will not get my permanent registration for the on road price that I payed and I need to pay an extra 2.5k or get it done on my own. Since I could not spend much time on this I payed the extra amount. They were very unprofessional it to take advantage of my situation, I should have clearly negotiated it during booking about permanent registration including in onroad price rather than assuing it.(my old vehicle Santro's registration was also included in onroad price.so just assumed it would be same)
Before permanent registration the sales guy(Surender) didn't inform me anything about the 2nd vehicle life tax( which is 2% extra of ex-showroom price) even if I own a two wheeler. He did mention about that for my old car, but never mentioned that it be applicable even if I possess a two wheeler. On the day of registration, the agent said I need to pay extra 2% of ex-showroom price which is~16K or else pay him 3k so that he will save me from paying 16k. so I just had to belive him an payed 3k extra.
Their onroad price for Ford Classic Titanium Diesel was 9.2 lacs which was 4k more than what Fortune quoted, but they promised to include a branded SunFilm after permanent registration(this was because of a supreme court ruilng for car sun films). Now after my permanent registration, when I'm trying to call the sales guy(Surender), he never responds to my calls and replys to my messages.
Looking at all these issues, I though I made a wrong choice by going with Mody, just because they offered 10K more for my old vehicle then Fortune. but ultimately they have indirectly recovered the amount and on top of that had to deal with highly unprofessional staff.
