I had been introduced to Cafe Mocha almost 3 years ago by a friend. I had come to Mumbai on a holiday and we decided to meet up at the Mocha at Colaba (I happened to be in Colaba at that time and I did not know anything about Mumbai back then) So we met up at the place stood in line but I saw a great chilled out crowd, scanned the menu great stuff! Or let me say out of the world stuff! It tasted good too! I came back to the place everytime I came to Mumbai and since I came earlier in the day almost always got a place immediately.
Later I was in Hyderabad and I went to the Mocha there, and I was not in the least bit impressed with the interiors, some of the stuff on the menu (Oreo Shake to be specific) was not available on the menu but the service otherwise was great and clearly made up for whatever the interiors lacked, still the experience was not as good as the one in Mumbai. Then there was the stint with Mocha in Pune when it freshly opened. Looking at the huge que outside I was convinced I'd never go there but eventually I did, the seats were ok the service was also ok. The Food was nice. Again they did not have stuff from the menu.
That was the good part, now starts the bad part.
So now that I am in Mumbai, my friends decided we were going to Mocha at Bandra. The board of Mocha was hidden and depressing. The eight of us went there, to find torn sofas, dim/non-existant lighting the a/c pretty much non-functional (Though they charged 100 bucks extra for that), the toilets were not working (Both of them!!), they did not have Coffee (No coffee in a cafe strange......) the Hooka (some of the flavors were not available, HOW CUTE!) was so, so and the service....... What service.
The people were doing a pretty good job of ignoring us. The food was nice though I had not ordered and the people ordering got stuff that I really dont appreciate at Mocha's but overall I did not like the experience. I dont know if this is the case with most Mocha's in Mumbai so I will give it the benefit of doubt, but my advice to you, dont go to the Bandra one!
