I have rarely come across a more unprofessional furniture dealer. You can count on them for customer dissatisfaction, customer insensitivity, complete disregard of customer needs, total failure of commitment; in short, a complete harassment package.
I had booked an L shaped sofa, along with an ottoman, through Mobel Mani Square store, Kolkata, on 29th May and had paid more than 30% as advance. The delivery date on my invoice/receipt was mentioned as 9th June. I was told to come 2 days before delivery date to make balance payment. When I called on 7th, I was told that delivery will be delayed due to'product unavailability'. I was given a tentative date of 17th June. On 15th June when I called to pursue the matter, the concerned sales executive didn't bother to answer my call. An hour later, the store manager called to inform delivery will be further delayed till 24th. No explanation was given for this additional delay.
On 24th June, a 'partial' delivery was made; sofa, but no ottoman. Interestingly, the challan said'sofa with ottoman'. Since I was already suspicious of their motive, I checked and confronted the store manager on phone about missing piece. He acknowledged that ottoman was not sent since it was'damaged'. How can a custom-made piece which was supposed to ba made specially for me, and took almost a month's time in preparation, be damaged, is beyond my comprehension. A future date for delivering the ottoman has been promised, which, I am sure, won't be honored.
The fiasco doesn't end here. The sofa which was delivered, was supposed to be fitted on 25th. Nobody turns up, and when at 6 pm I call the store manager, he assures me to'look into the issue'. The fitter apparently was dismayed by rainfall and decided not to turn up. Till the time I am writing this review, there is no news of the fitter.
As the full(balance) payment was cleared before delivery, I am now at their mercy.
If you want to have a similar nightmare, be my guest and go for a purchase at Mobel. Otherwise, PLEASE AVOID THIS DEALER LIKE PLAGUE!I am seriously thinking of going to the consumer forum for redressal.
Almost forgot to mention that their'40% off' scheme is a scam; the discounted pieces are more expensive than similar products at other outlets.
