Hello Readers, A friend of mine had requested the Mitsubishi guys to send a Cedia for test drive as he was very eager to own one. The next day, a white sports model was brought for us to drive and see. My friend was totally thrilled to see the vehicle and he had requested me to test drive it to see for myself. I have over 18 years of driving experience on almost all the cars which were released from 1980 to till date. Currently I own a Verna diesel and he mentioned that Cedia would easily outclass Verna on the road.

Once inside the test vehicle, I was happy with the front panels and the luxury gadgets around. I was really impressed with the interiors and I felt the vehicle was worth to its value of 10 Lakh.

On driving the vehicle, the steering was little tight and the gear, cluth and brakes were fine. I took off on an empty road where there is a possibility of touching 150km. But I was little irritated to see that the vehicle just touched 90km at the end of 1km! ofcourse I could have stepped on the pedel even more but the engine was already roaring at 90km! The executive who accompanied me revealed that the engine is just MPFI and not a turbo charged. Then what is the use of having a car with 2000CC engine costing at 10 Lakh? I realised that verna can easily beat this car in instant pickup. I cut short my test drive and advised my friend to think twice.

Anyway to my opinion, I will not stop anyone from buying a Cedia but see if it really suits your requirements. Cedia scored points more in comfort and luxury but very less in pickup and mileage. I also felt that Verna engine was much quiet then cedia.

Currently Mitshubshi's life line is Pajero. Also pls look at the resale value of the vehicle and you can judge by the number of same vehicles on the road.
