These days with the number of issues and complains u see from many brands its very hard 2 find a good ac. I being a hitachi fan from years have just begun 2 dislike them in the split ac segment cause one of my split gives frequent issues and a newer split has had its compressor and cooling coil and a pcb in warranty within 3 months fo buying it. so I made up my mind that id go into the premium segment since these are imports and quality according to international standards and my choices were daikin mitsubishi toshiba and general. toshiba was very hard 2 find and then we had 2 wait for it after you book I hate waiting. general are good but vie read bad reviews n heard on their service lately so chucked it

whats left is daikin the leader and mitsubishi.

mitsubishi has 2 separate companies mitsubishi electric and mitsubishi heavy industries. I personally found the latter 1 better in specs. my usage is heavy and I need serious cooling not the 25 26deg stuff I need 20-22 degress and the inverter acs were the best 2 reduce bills which were sky rocketing. the area is around 400 sqft and has a lot fo 3d av equipment and an adjoining kitchen portioned by a door the required tonnage according 2 hitachi engineers is 3.5 tones. which is a 3phase unit and I wood need a dedicated 3 phase line nt the 3phase my house has

i visited a dealer of mitsubishi he says a 2 tone non inverter covers 380 sqft as said in the brochure he stated that the airflow and air delivery path of mitsubishi was better then daikin. and they had a srk71zk 2.3 tone inverter even the daikin has a 2.3 inverter ftks71vfma and my choice was fixed on these two. I was indeed leaning to daikin as we rarely see a mitsubishi unit

deciding between both was very tough as mitsubishi was more efficient in the inverters and daikin is known for its performance. since 2 months have been deciding which to choose. some dealers say daikin some say mitsubishi

few days back while coming back home I saw this new ac mall which just opened up so me n dad decided well see there and they had most brands vestar, general, voltas, samsung, panasonic, lg, sane, mitsubishi daikin and hitachi and even live demos of these brands our focus was on the daikin room and the mitsubishi heavy industries room. they just had 2 of each brand in live demo in different rooms a 1.5 non-inverter and 1.5 inverter

we entered daikin first and dad dint much like its looks but said well check it they showed us the cooling it was brilliant and chilly then the mitsubishi room dad loved its looks the unit was more silent and gradually begins 2 increase its cooling making it more calm but this had more chilly air and less noise and looked futuristic.

The mitsu has 720cfm airflow while daikin has 614 cfm(means the mitsu will cool my area faster), cop of mitsubishi is 3.29 and daikin is 3.01(mitsu will save me on utility bills which were reaching 16thousand per month during summers) and noise level at lowest fan is 26db compared to daikins 34db(my hitachi iota which is in use in this same area has lowest of 40 db and its outdoor is very noisy)

sat there for a few minutes and then went back into daikin wasn't that impressed but dad asked them wheres the outdoor units and he took us over the daikin was silent infact very silent then they switched of the daikin and had 2 wait 5 mins till mitsubishi started and jeez we dint know it was on till we went in and checked the cool air. even if they manipulated with it like switching the unit of it wudnt blow cold air in 3 minutes pretty impressed by this.

The sales rep said daikin and mitsubishi are on same level but mitsubishi are goin ahead of them in performance and technology and even design as daikin maintains its same looks and its indoor unit turns off white over time have seen this. dad said chuck daikin we need mitsubishi after negotiations we got the unit for rs76400 from rs77840 the copper pippin he gives in kits(4m) which cost rs 1800 but since the unit I want is r410a(being future proof and r410a is more efficient and silent and is dumb installer proof) needing thicker pipes or else it may burst due 2 high pressure the cost is 3000 for the kit including a 4 core wire and a 3 core wire with drain pipe, and 2000 for install cumin to rs 81, 400 the unit is a 2.3 tonne with heat pump(as an added benefit cant say if it may snow in mumbai fingers crossed fro it to happen) he was however suggesting we take a 2 tone if it was a non inverter I would have but if we take inverters we should oversize a bit so you can save more power when it decreases its speed.

The unit was booked on friday evening and delivered tuesday evening . today morning a licensed engineer trained in mitsubishi fr r410a fitting. and a helper came they took their sweet time fixing the indoor unit and then placed the condenser in the window. while opening the piping it was found that the pipes were the r22 ones not the r410a I paid for 2 hours later piping came and after everything was done they used nitrogen gas for leak checking then the vacuum pump hose wudnt fit on my service valve an hour later they got it let it vacuum fro 25 minutes while they did the electric connections after that they powered on was shocked it was cooling but no noise from the comrpessor cudnt know it was on had 2 feel it can only know if its in high power mode.

The 390 sqft room was freezing in 15 mins at 21 set temperature absolutely silent and long airthrow heating worked well just a while back we all were shivering s had 2 set it at 25 to remain comfy

though the price is very expensive its totally worth it either 2 1.5 tonne split units from either onida voltas rl hitachi coupled with double elec bills and maybe not so silent or this single unit with less bills and a very very powerful cooling tech stuff now.

The ac operates between 0.25 tones - 2.3 tones power usage ranges between 400 watts - 2860 watts

has a photocatalytic washable deodorizer filter an alergen filter

airflow of 710 cfm

heat pump

4 way sing.

5 fan speeds

allergen cleaning

24 hrs ion

self clean

anti microbial blower

blue fins inner grooved copper tubing

dc twin rotary mitsubishi comrpessor

self diagnosis glossy finish

r410a gas environmental friendly more efficient and illiterate installer proof( normal hoses fr r22 wnt fit and if he doesn't install it according 2 the instructions ur ac is gone)

hyper inverter( mhi technology)

discharge temp sensor. outdoor air temp sensor, inverter temp sensor indoor air temp and humidity sensor

variable speed outdoor fan

silicone coated pcbs

1 year parts and labor warranty

5 years compressor warranty

The quality seems top notch as fro now.

Its been 4 hours ive used it amps read 10.1 at max drosp to 9.7 and if temp is set at 25 it takes 6 amps and then drops to 2.5 amps. on start up it starts from 1.9 amsp den climbs to 10.1 amps in 2 minutes.

only clickin noises heard and a faint whistling noise from the outdoor as it starts up or when temsp are changed no airthrow noise n rattling no rubber pads used.

2 days of fidgeting with the ac. I noticed that changing the set temp changes the intensity of cold air it blows out. say I kee pit at 27 it blows cool air. 23 cold air. 18 freezing and hi power alaskan storm,

also the noise fo the outdoor varies but its hardly audible unless u keep ur ears 5-10 inches away from it
