I am writing this review after correcting the Google Map location of the resort to Kakkabe from Madikeri. Someone, probably the business owner, marked the resort to be located in Madikeri, the central city in Coorg. However, the resort is in Kakkabe which is 34 painful Kms away from Madikeri. There is a kachha road leading to this place that is full of potholes and it takes around 1 hour and 30 mins to travel the distance via car. If you stay at this resort going for sight-seeing around Coorg is next to impossible. Your car shockers and brakes will cry through the distance and your back will rebuke you in the night.

The resort is a secondary business of a plantation owner from Kerela. So, he has maintained the property well and clean. Coffee plantation make the location scenic. But, the place is located deep into the forest. You would not find a single decent place to see/eat in 20 kms of radius. The resort maintains its own power generator and heats up water using fire. So there are frequent power cuts, dim voltage and hours of delays in getting hot water. You are completely dependent of resort's staff for everything. The staff is polite but hard to find or contact. There is no intercom/internet in the area.

Coming to food, they promise you buffet but will never serve one. As the resort is in remote location you have to rely on the limited menu provided by the resort. Interestingly, the resort doest not have a rate card for rooms and food menu. They charge what they want. I was charged 50 Rs for coffee/tea, 300 Rs for a non-veg curry, 165 Rs for a veg curry, 20 Rs for each roti, 160 Rs for Jeera rice, 110 Rs for ghee rice, 120 Rs for dal fry, 80 Rs for 4 bread butter toast, 80 Rs for egg roast, 80 Rs for corn flakes, 80 Rs for Idlis and 80 Rs for gulab jamun or ras malai. So, each meal per person might cost you around Rs 500 to Rs 700. The food is tasty but you might get a feel that the gravy remains the same and the stuff inside changes. So, you will be done eating it in a 2 night stay.

Regarding the cottages, they are built as family cottages. One big room with attached bathroom. This room is equipped with a high double bed, a nightstand, a TV, a dressing mirror, two chairs and a coffee table. Attached is a very small room with just a bunk bed. The second room is too small to accommodate anything other than the bunk bed. If there are more than 2 adults in a cottage then they do not give any extra bed. The 3rd person sleeps on the bunk bed on a extra charge of 1500 Rs - 2500 Rs per night. The bunk bed is small and not comfortable for an adult.
