The trailer of Miruthn has turned lot of heads towards it, and the film has become one of the most anticipated films of 2016.
Tamil cinema has few sci-fi films on bio-war and mass destruction(Like Dasavatharam and E), the concept of zombie has never made its way into Kodambakkam. But not anymore, as Shakthi Soundar Rajan, director of Naaigal Jaakirathai, has come up with Miruthan, the first-ever zombie thriller in Tamil film industry.
Jayam Ravi, who is currently on a winning streak, is playing the hero in the film, and Laxmi Menon will play the female lead. The film also stars RNR Manohar and Kali Venkat in important roles.

Going by the trailer one can understand that Miruthan has a storyline of a typical zombie film. A deadly virus, which turns humans into zombies, is spreading and the hero is at the front fighting the battle against the possible apocalypse. It is, of course, a tried-and-tested script in Hollywood, but it is surely a new genre in Tamil.
